I wonder why it took so long; maybe CNN wanted to gather enough hard evidence first.

    THIS

The media is part of the problem.

Sorry, I'm not for everything the Dems propose.
But they're not even close to what the GOP is doing.

    There's a difference.
one is sometimes incorrect and incompetent
the other is actively being aggressive and dangerous.

The media AND many leaders need to call out BAD actions and words.
Clearly and strong. And repeat it.

Do make it a flaming controversy.
    Because it IS.

I would say the same if the Dems did it. (and they DID, back in the early 1900's and late 1800's)

Fair and balanced is actually pointing out when one side is being unfair and unbalanced.
    Stop false equivalency.

ABC’s David Muir Interrupts Chris Christie, Who Compares 2020 Claims to 2000 Election: ‘There Isn’t a Real Equivalency’

    THIS
This is what the media needs to again & again...call out BS.

I don't want "fair". I want facts and I want truth.
    And DO the investigation DIG
That is what media should do.
    Legit news outlets.

Fox can take a flying leap off a high bridge.
They're part of why we're here. They have muddied the water and they're supporting those who supported the coup and even now instigate fraud further.

I mean the other news, the ones that try to be legit.
Just do it correct. Have integrity.
    Call the bullshit.

I would love to see this more often.

George Stephanopoulos outshouting Rand Paul was a beautiful thing to see.

Opinion | A plea to the media: Stop regurgitating anonymous GOP attacks — The Washington Post

    Yes.
The media needs to stop being a part of the problem.
    Make people accountable.

    Stop the false equivalence.
Stop bending the story to make a horse race.

Stop the “if it bleeds, it leads” mindset.

    Yellow journalism needs to croak.

We have a VERY serious crisis here.
And if too many get away with it.
They might not HAVE a newspaper to print.
    At least what it wants.

    AKA Russia or China scenario.

Fox News host Brian Kilmeade called out for showing photoshopped image of judge in Mar-a-Lago raid

Now this IS fake news!
    Terrible

A supposedly national news outlet putting out basically fraud.
If I was the judge, I'd sue Fox so fast it would make your head spin.
Go for millions...make it a news issue for all the other papers.

    He has a legit complaint.
And Fox has lowered the bar...it has gone over ANY credibility.

If it was a spoof comedy show...sure, no problem (poorly done...but that's obvious to the viewer)
But this is being portrayed as news and fact...or inferred at least. (AND for a serious warrant for serious REAL issues)

Hey, if people can win millions off of Alex Jones.
Then just think of the target and deep pocket Fox has to share with a wronged judge. :D

It looks jokey enough to be claimed as parody.
So I doubt millions in fines would happen.
I'd give it a 75-80% good rating as fake celeb porn for foot massage fetishists.

But yeah, it dosn't belong on any news show and Fux audience would surely believe at least the idea of it and wank to it.

FOX needs to be called out for this, but I'm not sure a jury would see this as worth serious punitive damages. But that could certainly turn out differently if Brian Kilmeade, and FOX, is stupid enough to continue to defend using it.

Agreed. Just fake enough to be defended as "an obvious spoof," yet real enough to many FOX viewers.

Defamation Suit About Election Falsehoods Puts Fox on Its Heels

There SHOULD be a truth qualifier for those entities portraying themselves as news outlets.
    And if its satire...state it.
That's their business, it is just that. There's too much influence and impact. (Heck, it's going all the way back to getting US into the Spanish-American war)

Hell, we note nudity, smoking, language, adult, etc...
    Why not Factual Laxity???

Donald Trump and Mark Meadows' last-minute plan to declassify an FBI file and tip off a conservative journalist: NYT

New York Times, Washington Post, Chicago Tribune, LA Times, etc and so on are now going to dig, dig, dig...
Now that this has become bigger than Watergate.
This is their Bread & Butter...they live for this...their future rep and $$$.

T and the GOP better get ready for even more hounddogs digging deep for a shred of a bone.
    They smell blood.

    Wish y'all sleepless nights.

Analysis | What if Tucker Carlson’s wrong about more than just Russia? — The Washington Post

Ok, I don’t think Carlson is THAT enamored of Russia & Putin
IMHO, he’s been on the take…or been flipped/blackmailed/etc from Russia for some time.

Sure, he gets fame & fortune being a know-it-all dick
But it’s the fact his spin and bylines match very well with Russia propaganda and their agenda.

Keeping with the same pattern of Russia undermining American stability and increasing chaos and propping up the unstable Right.

Putin’s M.O. for some time has been, “chaos to the enemy”.
And much of our public and leaders, political & media, cater to this…for their own agenda, aggrandizement or just plain $$$

I hope Biden & the DOJ, NSA etc all of the alphabet soup is investigating this further.

Because they ARE stirring the pot.

Fox News CEO rejected Trump election fraud claims in private: Report

I hope this is true and can be proven beyond any reasonable doubt.

FOX News wants to claim they were simply reporting news worth reporting. I'm pretty sure a thorough examination of their broadcasts will show a strong bias for reporting the election fraud claims while ignoring the news that those claims were proven wrong.

Allowing their staff to frequently present false news under the guise of opinion/editorial should be examined as well.

The lawsuit brought by Dominion could drag on for years. I just wonder if Fox could actually get hit hard enough $$$$$$$$$$ to seriously hurt them.

I think if successful, this changes how media reports on politics and politicians.

Similar to the impact of the lawsuits for the UK tabloids.
They’re much more careful and less aggressive these days.

Rupert Murdock needs another gut shot for more lessons learned.
Thankfully he’s older and his kids are taking over.

I agree that it would be nice to remove some of the Wrong Right (I just this second made that up!) assmouths, but let's not forget how some of the CNN newscasters throw gloat parties when NPD Trump is the loser in the news. Not that what CNN does is any where close to FOX GOP Network News (must mention Cuomo).

I wonder if the removal is more window dressing than sincere action.

This week on "Face the Nation with Margaret Brennan," October 30, 2022: Emmer, Maloney, Easterly, Becker, Walter, Timiraos, Salvanto - CBS News

At least Margaret Brennan tried to nail Tom Emmer has being a hypocrite.

I couldn't find a link to the Emmer tweet with the #firepelosi showing Emmer firing a rifle at the gun range. On Face The Nation Emmer condemned all violence, while defending his tweet as being about 2A rights and having nothing to do with encouraging violence. Bullshit. Total bullshit.

    It's not encouraging violence.
    It's not an insurrection.
    It's not climate change.

It's all misdirection propaganda. It's all sales repitition to the dolts that buy in to the Dr Oz weight loss, the prosperity theocracy of megachurch, the self made billionaire fable, the false pride, patriotism and notions of freedom and country based on Christianity.

    It's all bullshit.
Launching led pellets out your steel tube don't make you free, patriotic, masculine, honorable, smart, articulate, a leader, a good citizen, a good parent, a provider, a teacher, self sufficient, less fearful, or anything of value at all. It only makes you destructive.
Having a brain that's focused on guns and lies makes you dangerous and evil.

    Duh…

I just figured out why the media asks such obvious questions
Or those that seem almost rhetorical.

…because so many people don’t see the obvious
And plenty need things spelled out for them

Some the conversations and interactions I’ve been having where they’re NOT aware of happenings

I’m like, where have you been???
    Do ya watch & listen?
Is your memory that short term?

I’m not trying to be insulting or condescending
I’m just surprised they are oblivious.
    Blissfully ignorant of events
    Or what people are doing

    Media fills in the blanks
When the bats decide not to be blind
