Yesterday a man broke into the San Francisco home of SOH Nancy Pelosi. Fortunately she wasn't home. Unfortunately her husband was home and was beaten with a hammer.

Attack on Pelosi’s husband heightens fears of increasing US political violence | US politics | The Guardian

Duh! People have been warning about the Wrong Right nut jobs (let's not forget the Left has a few) using violence even before 06 Jan 2021 (which calls for another Duh!).

As expected we're seeing some "silent consent." McCarthy is an experienced politician, he damn well knows a clear condemnation -- even if insincere -- is expected, and the right thing to do.

As I expected I haven't seen a response from NPD Trump. That's not surprising since he seems to get some kind of ego rush from Wrong Right violence.

Not actually trump but seems fairly spot on.

Violence will ramp up. Too many nut jobs still hiding in plain sight.
I expect some voting drop boxes to blow up.
Folks of the mindset think drop boxes are illegitimate place to dump "fake" ballots so they'll want to destroy them as well as see some splash damage.
Disrupting the ability to actually count votes would be a good thing to them.
Already news about drop box lurkers in they're military cosplay garb hanging out on their Armageddon bug out trucks.
Depending on local community I'd be looking for that.
I see one or two serious bug out trucks around here...off road gear in black and green like, extra gas tanks, bed mounted spare tires and off road traction plates mounted on elaborate headache bars and racks plus the anti govt. stickers.
About 1/2 the other trucks I see look like owners identify as playing with their childhood monster truck toys with 16" tire/fender clearance and 3+" of tire poke out.
The rest of the truck drivers look like normal folks driving them as they did off the dealer lot just going to work or home utility work/improvement chores.
Never really sure if the haircuts and lumberjack beards represent Gavin McInnes fans or just fashionista beards.

How one could brake into a politicians home and not think..."this is my ticket to the penitentiary !" is beyond me.

This has been making me nuts too.
    Like WTAF?
There's also the whole thing of "Pelosi actually hired the guy for sex and they got into argument about payment".
Rightwingers will do anything to deflect from the idea that one of their own is a fucking terrorist.

    Another thought:
Silence, even out of fear of reprisal,
    is still silent consent.

    The economy. Inflation.

I won't bore you with links.
If you follow the news you know.
If you buy groceries you know.

What I not hearing is what's fueling inflation, which leads to a question I've had for months:

What did people expect when we started pulling out of the Covid economic slump? Businesses are trying to get their profit margins back up. They're trying to make up for lost profits.

The profit ripple effect is helping fuel inflation. Capitalism is helping fuel inflation.

Actions could be taken to curb inflation. Biden could ask businesses to voluntarily run at a lower profit margin. In some cases actions could be taken to make it mandatory, either by order, or more likely some arm twisting.

The Repubs believe in less government. Laissez-faire, let business take care of business. Guess what? Business is killing business.

Obviously there are other factors involved in the economy & inflation. The sad part is voters listen to the Repubs hammering inflation, but they don't ask the Repubs to provide their solutions.

    Some ramblings...

Many races are still too close too call.

The Three Stooges got reelected in Texas. Expected, but still nauseating. I did what I could, but my votes are only meaningful in the races in blue Harris County. And of course we had some controversial glitches that the Repub controlled courts ensured favored the Repubs (is anyone shocked?).

It looks like AZ will end up Blue. Lake (who is hot & knows how to work it), a Repub & brainwashed Trumpite, promised legal action before the election even took place.

Jersey Boy Oz lost. I'm happy for Fetterman.

Ron DeSantis. Gawd help us. The Repubs learned their lesson; redistricting works when done properly.

GA. Hershel Walker. I've been a boxing fan since the mid 1970s. Some former boxers tend to smile a lot to cover the fact that their cognition is lacking; Walker smiles way too much. The way he speaks reminds of a former boxer who stuck around too long. I think Texas voters generally are a bunch of ignorant dumbshits; Georgia has its share of ignorant dumbshit voters. Oh yeah, Walker can't take a minute to rinse & dry his oily face?

    Hershel Walker. I misspoke.

In Texas he would've won by ay landslide.

Texas voters make Georgia voters look almost intelligent.

Will Fetterman's victory change the way the media covers disabilities?

We as people, as citizens, as a nation, as the whole world, need to STOP judging others on image and START evaluating on merits, skills, ability and actions...and how they consider and treat others.
    Really, it's straight-forward, KISS
Are they the BETTER person for the role, circumstance and task??? Do they consider others and the consequences???

Stop judging like we're a bunch of fuckin' Jr. High school students.
You're ADULTS, act like it!!!

This is not to say, you can't have fun, be youthful, be attracted to sexy or whomever and so on...

BUT, if you're hiring someone or putting them in a position of influence and POWER, and they will likely have influence and impact on YOUR life and loved ones AND your city, nation, world...
Then judge them for GOOD qualities!!! (not if they have a quirk...or even a damned flaming pimple on their nose!)

And do NOT choose people who look more "perfect" or talk "cool" but are essentially BAD choices and bad people.

    What's so difficult???
I don't get it at all.

Would you choose a beautiful cook who cooks poisonous crap tasting food for your dinner???
Or an ugly bastard who cooks friggin' great tasting quality stuff???
    No?

Then why not do the same for your leaders and VIPs???
    Choose quality! Vote well!
    THINK!

    A twitch doesn't make someone a bitch.
But a bitch could make you twitch. (* meaning a horrible person will cost you time, mind, sanity and $$$)

Choose well, stop judging a book by it's cover.
    It's cool.

On the flip side...some politicians downplay (possibly hide) their disability.

When Greg Abbott first ran for governor of Texas you never saw his wheelchair in any of his ads.

Once he became the incumbent you only saw it ads where he was presented as being compassionate & caring (he's neither). It wasn't shown in ads where he wanted to appear strong & decisive.

Now that he's firmly embedded as the incumbent representing the party of overwhelming choice you see his wheelchair in many ads.

I'll give his challengers credit, I've never seen anyone mention his disability, much less suggest it hinders his ability to lead.

    A related note (short version):
Abbott was a second tier attorney at a well known law firm when he was hit by a falling tree branch while jogging. He received a very generous, by Texas standards, $3.5M settlement. After becoming governor, he backed & signed a law limiting personal injury awards to $250K. During his campaign he received large donations from groups with vested interest in limiting jury awards.

I was really feeling like someone would do some fire bomb thing in a voting drop box but I'm really glad that didn't happen.

Plus all the attorneys Generals elected beat their election deniers opponents too.
The march towards autocracy, theocracy loonyocracracy has been slowed.

Nevada, Georgia, don't fuck this up !

Gov. Hogan saying this should have been a red wave, but I don't see why or how with all the shit for brains candidates the GOP and trump was pushing.
I know the economy, inflation and gas prices...but really I don't see government having a ton of control on that aside from cheerleading.

My economy isn't bad...$10 more every 1.5 weeks for gas ? Whatever....I don't even look at grocery prices.
I'm just pissed Nabisco shrinkflated graham crackers and the emptiness of the box let's the rest bounce around and get broken... raise the damn price ! As it is the broken crackers cause me to change to Quaker oats chocolate rice cakes...Nabisco just lost me as a buyer so that's a bigger loss in the end at least for one customer...store brand graham crackers are fine too + cheaper so...don't fucking steal my damn crackers !

I'm getting messages in my txt spam from Warnock asking for some funds...I'll probably toss him $25.

That Uncle Tom beat down the preacher gives Hershel Walker is brutal.

I've always wondered why evangelicals think of the GOP as their party, if they ever truly did by percentage, as the vid points out. I can see the leaders of Wealthy White Christians, AND other religions, having a vested financial interest in the GOP.

Whenever I accidently see Joel Olsteen on TV I hear him say, "Gawd wants you to be rich. Gawd wants you to keep your money, as long as you give me my share. Making you feel good about being wealthy & greedy is hard work!"

I'm old enough to remember RayGun & FallWell.

Edit: The Kroger store brand Ginger Snaps
have more ginger bite than the Nabisco ones.

Great ! Thanks for the tip on ginger snaps !

Everything that preacher said rings true to me. It is brutal but I defy Walker to debate him without preparation and a writer.
That preacher talks with the gusto Dems need, Bernie has it but this guy turns it to 11.
