What are ya doing on thanksgiving?
    What are you thankful for?

As for me and my family, We will just be chilling at the house.
Not going anywhere but thats our choice. Im actually going to take the day off from work.
Were not going to have a huge spread. I think just ham, mac and cheese, and some potato salad. my wife and I decided that their was no point in going out and spending abunch of money on food to spend all day to cook. My mom has to work til 2 so around 4 we will just have some family time and watch a movie or some football. Most importantly WE will be together.

    What am I thankful for??
Many tings, but most importantly. Im thankful for my family that loves me, and my TFP family that love me. Who knows where i would be without both of my families.

I hope that everyone has a great day

    I love yall very much.

Last year we were invited to a Thanksgiving dinner with friends in MD. We thought it was going to be a big affair and we brought 2 pies. It was just the couple, their two adult children, and us. This year the adult children may have a +1 each but as a whole it was a nice quite family thanksgiving with friends who really like us enough to trust us with their family moments.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

We did our usual family get-together at grandma's house.
I did most of the cooking and I was very happy with how everything turned out.
It's a very traditional menu: Turkey, sweet potato pie, sausage stuffing, noodle pudding, homemade cranberry sauce.
And pie. Did I mention pie?
Watching the Bills game gave me some pre-dinner indigestion but it all turned out OK.
I love Thanksgiving. It's the single most relaxing day of the whole year.
And you can't beat the dinner.

Since we were all working and my ex has divorced my daughters (by text no less) we went to a nice restaurant.
So it was me, my two daughters, my adopted granddaughter, my daughters soon to be wife, and my granddaughter's girlfriend (who has also been unofficially adopted into the family because that's how we roll).
My daughters explained to the girlfriend why dirty martinis were something you had to have been deeply hurt in order to enjoy, because they tasted like tears and the dead sea.
Also why it was okay to feel stupid and overwhelmed your first year in college.
Shop talk, of course, between me and my youngest about how fucked up the Anchorage public health system is because that's our life everyday.
None of us ate the official Thanksgiving dinner, we at tons of apps and sides, sharing around the table to see what everybody else was having.
And we had a great time.

I think pecan pie is more popular down south than it is up here with us Yankees.
Our daughters made an apple and a cherry. There was also a cranberry bread and chocolate chip cookies.
I hope you got some pecan!

    Today was a
    no ham,
    no carrot raisin salad, &
    no pumpkin pie
    day :p.

Edit: Pecan pie is extremely popular in Texas. I find 80% of them taste like some kind of sickening sweet unidentifiable goo topped with stale pecans. But I'm clearly in the minority. Some of my aunts who were old school cooks did some really good pecan pies.

Yes it is more popular down here, no I didn't but that's ok. I can sit down and eat a whole pecan pie by myself. lol

When my mother in law was alive she would always make one for dessert for thanksgiving and xmas. The funny thing is that she would make one for everyone for dessert and she would make one just for me. I miss her.

I have learned that the pecans make the pie. I know it sounds dumb, but it just seems that way to me. But i may be wayyyyy off

Fresh pecans with a good flavor are essential.

It only take a tiny piece of the bitter inner shell (cork?) to ruin a slice.

My "winner" rating reflects my weird sense of humor:
It takes a real anus to give someone a
winner rating for a flattering comment.
