Yes, but their anger shouldn’t be “just” at T
It should be at the leaders who embraced and enabled T
And at THEMSELVES for supporting and empowering his toxicity.

T represents everything my mother and good authority figures taught me to detest in a person.

The only thing I think he hasn’t done was order direct murder.
But he HAS enabled and encouraged indirectly death.
What do y’think those cops killed were in Jan 6th riot??? Chopped liver?
(effectively so, to be blunt :( )

He’s scammed and IS now scamming
He’s stolen and IS now stealing
He’s lied and IS now lying
He’s been bigoted, sexist, hypocritical, egotistical, etc and so on…and even now does it.
    Even encourages it in others.
Frankly, expects it..with TOTAL loyalty to him to undermine his opposition.

AND the SOB tried to TAKE the United States
    Using others to help.
(But still deny, just in case it failed, for CYA tactics)
    Thankfully it did fail
And even now is trying to STILL take over.

So the GOP has a problem, themselves
And voters for the GOP too, look in the mirror.

Sure, y’all “might” not like T
And y’all “may” even want him gone
BUT, there’s still an underlying problem, corruption and attitude that supports and encourage real BAD behavior.

And the Dems aren’t perfect and have their problems too
But that’s like comparing a mountain to a molehill.

If the GOP is going to survive and do GOOD things again.
Then y’all have some soul searching to do.

Because this GDI, independent spirit, frowns on all the bile and shenanigans.

    Figure it out!!!
Be a good adult, vote for the good stuff.
And yes, there’s good conservative stuff too.
It’s just got shit all over it not
Because the fan is on high speed for awhile now.

Turn it off, clean up the mess.
Get rid of your shit throwers.
    (plural because there’s MORE than one… )

Make up your mind already! Are you backing Trump or not? :):D:p

Let's not forget how many thousands of people died because of how NPD Trump denied and downplayed COVID-19, and passed the buck to the states because he refused to make hard (unpopular) decisions.

While advising Trump on judges, Conway sold her business to a firm with ties to judicial activist Leonard Leo — POLITICO

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Leonard_Leo

You want to know who's who in the “Illuminati” for the GOP?
    Look at Leonard Leo

His background reads like the “text book” of a Machiavellian power behind the throne figure.

Focusing on pushing really conservative judges.

And I know better, this is just the tip of the iceberg, of his involvement, connections and manipulation.

If the DOJ should trace things, the should use him as one of the spiders at the center of the web.
    It’s nefarious.

Nothing purely illegal just pushing hard on one mindset. Lots of gray areas.

Fox News' Sean Hannity says he knew all along Trump lost the election — NPR

    Yeah sure…
I knew he was a criminal, but he was “our” criminal.
So we just helped him do crime.

Should be a civil lawsuit vs Hannity.

Because he stoked the sedition almost as much as T did.
And Fox can stand to lose more $$$ on lawyers and penalties, right?

In the end, there has to be consequences for actions.
If you’re a celebrity, you’re a focus. (can’t have your cake and eat it too)
And if you present yourself as a NEWS outlet, then there’s a higher standard.

    Sorry, can’t poke the bull
Then say, “who us?” Or “It wasn’t me”.

Sounds pretty damning to me. The actual damages probably wouldn't hurt FOX. In a just world the punitive damages should make them scream in pain.

Increasingly desperate GOP calls it a night without picking a speaker

Three more, six so far. How many more "votes of no confidence" can McCarthy survive?

It seems that there are enough staunch Not Kevin members and enough staunch Kevin Only members to keep this going indefinitely.

The vast majority of Repubs formed a red wall around NPD Trump during two impeachment proceedings, & other efforts to take a closer look at him & his administration. So far two broad calls from NPD Trump saying support McCarthy haven't worked in the House. A very interesting turn.

What is the top GOP leadership doing during this fiasco? Staying out of the cesspool might seem like a good idea, but hanging around waiting for an in-house (see what I did?) solution is a bad non-action. I'm guessing the phone services in DC are on fire.

I'm laughing at them not at your post.
There are some choice memes coming out of this.
I liked one comment about how we all know the what the definition of doing the same thing over and over with same result is...
Or that if McCarthy gets one more no vote his punch card is full so he gets a free latte.

    Eleven failed attempts.

Congratulations, House Republicans, you broke the record of 10 failures.

Which happened in 1859, when the US was on the brink of the Civil War.

    Think about that.

This is past sad. It's probably past pathetic.

    https://thehill.com/homenews/3803662-five-takeaways-how-mccarthy-won-the-speakership/

Is McCarthy going to proudly strut around grinning like an idiot? Being elected homecoming queen isn't a great achievement when everyone knows you gave out free BJs to get elected.

Sarcastic humor (attempt) aside, McBarely McCarthy is going to have one hell of time delicately juggling the numerous formal & informal coalitions. One possible outcome, which I sincerely hope becomes reality, is the dependence on Democrats to move forward bills that the GOP factions are fighting.

It now appears that George Santos will be sworn in. The various GOP factions, desperate for his vote, will certainly protect him. It seems the GOP firmly believes in giving a person a chance (many chances) to redeem themself...as long as they're Republican, of course.

Opinion | The Party of One Becomes the Party of None — POLITICO

There’s no true leader for the GOP
Only sets of pathetic idiots who yell loud are paid attention to.

Anyone with integrity or thought has been quiet.
    Anyone that did, was booted.

It’s going to be a do nothing House for the next 2 years.
    Just circuses and scandals.

The GOP needs a leader that move the ball forward.
And rationally so, because they’ll need to have the Dems and Independents, with such slim margins.
(And radicals which have already shown they’ll buck the vote)

Mutually assured obstruction: House GOP aims 'weaponization' panel at DOJ

Oh, we didn't see this coming...
The GOP vote for a probe to investigate the investigations of those GOP attempting overturn the election.
Led by by a representative who is being probed.

This is like criminals investigating police for investigating criminals.

THIS is what Dems get for LAGGING.
And now we have even more confusion and smoke & mirrors to cover up a coup.

DOJ won't do anything now...because they'll look like it would be political to arrest anyone.

    This will never end...

I'm going to be cautiously optimistic that the DOJ can do its job while negating most of the interference. As the article mentions the DOJ & those involved can always use the DOJ and Other Friends of NPD Trump playback.

Maybe some practical Repubs can shut this crap down before it gets started.

This could go under the Congress thread, but since it involves the Republican controlled HOR...

Marjorie Taylor Greene, the total nutcase from GA, has been assigned to the Homeland Secuity Committee. MTG is on the record, very clearly and often, as saying (a small sample):
9/11 was a hoax, no evidence was presented showing a plane hit the Pentagon building.
Supporting the election fraud lie pushed by NPD Trump.
Supports the Jan 06 insurrection. Very openly, very strongly. Said if she & Steve Bannon had been in charge it would've been successful.

Redundancy for emphasis: Kevin McCarthy assigned her to the Homeland Security Committee.

    https://en.wikiquote.org/wiki/Marjorie_Taylor_Greene

This long list doesn't come close to covering the number of seriously questionable things she has said, and done.

    ***********

George Santos -- aka Anthony Devolder, aka George Devolder, aka Anthony Zabrovsky -- was assigned to two committees...by Kevin McCarthy. One of the wrist slap punishments for Santos could've been no committee assignment.

Some new info has come to light. Santos has been accused of stealing $3K from a GoFundMe account he started to help get medical treatment for a sick dog belonging to a homeless veteran. He denies the accusations (for what that's worth).

Hopefully McCarthy's payment for Santos' support will become moot. In NY there's some movement to force Santos to resign.

    *********

We're supposed to have a Balance Of Powers in the USA. What happens when one of those bodies, in this case the House, becomes dysfunctional under the leadership of one political party? The House has powers that the Senate and the Executive Branch, separately and together, can't control.
