Whoa slow down there with the hot takes, we can't handle that kind of controversy here.

We're down to a single kitty. Layla went to cat heaven a couple of years ago and Monkey went this past fall. I miss them both a lot. We adopted a kitten a few summers back. We won't have another. My heart hurts too much. Layla was my stalwart companion for nearly two decades, since before I met Magpie, and I still grieve the loss.

Thanks. It's the eight year old I really worry for. In addition to the two cats my mom's dog died. I wasn't super attached to the pooch though he was a good dog, but he was the only dog the kid's ever actually bonded with, she has a fear of every other one. So that hurt her.

And Magpie's dad has terminal cancer so we've been preparing her for that too. It's a lot of death for an autistic little girl who already has a hard time processing her emotions in productive ways without all that crap.

I have no idea where to put this,
    so here it is.

Apparently it's a talking doll. My question:
Is the handgun missing (other images confirm the handgun is missing ) because it was misplaced, or was it considered politically incorrect?

EDIT: Adding the additional image scrambled my post. I'm leaving it as is.

On a serious discussion note, I do believe in later years George & Co. decided to tone down the violence in later Indy films. In Last Crusade, he does carry his revolver and fires it, but doesn't actually hit anyone with it. (He does shoot a P-38 and kills three Nazis with one bullet, but the scene is played for laughs.)

In Crystal Skull he still carries the revolver, and although he pulls it exactly once he doesn't fire it. It gets confiscated later by Russians about halfway through the movie.

I'm sure Disney elected to carry on this tradition once they acquired the rights to the Indiana Jones films.

In Dial of Destiny, his sidearm is conspicuously absent during his time in 1945 Germany. He doesn't have a sidearm when the film jumps to 1969 and leads him to Europe again. I would imagine it would be harder to bring a gun aboard a plane during that time period than it would have been 25 years earlier.

Side note: he does briefly capture a German pistol and use it in a firefight near the end of the film, but this has less to do with killin' bad guys and more about showing shots of his hands, where we can see he's still wearing his wedding band despite his spouse filing for divorce weeks ago.

I did a quick (superficial) search of Indiana Jones action figures, the action figures (dolls :p) I checked showed him with a revolver, in some cases holding it. What I didn't see was him wearing the holster, a right handed holster, on his left side, cross-body style, like the images I posted.

    @MeltedMetalGlob ;)

Rodeos are actually fun. They're like demolition derbies in the sense even if you don't know much about them or care much, they pull you in.

OTOH...people have told me that about ice hockey; I have no desire to see an ice hockey match.

I have been to the Houston rodeo and livestock show. It was not my kind of fun. Oh well.

A crowd wearing tight jeans, cowboy hats, beaded boots, printed shirts wanting to tame the beast. What's not to love! :)

Yes! Smaller rodeos a lot like minor league baseball. Audience participation. Contests <dragged by horse racing anyone>, exhibition of trick riding, and fair food.

You don't know what you're missing!
Have you ever seen ice hockey on TV?
We have a beaver pond partially on our property that freezes in the winter and we have a group of volunteers that build an outdoor rink in our village too.
I play ice hockey poorly but we play all the time in the winter and there is nothing else that can match the fun......:D

Yes, I've seen some games on TV, even watched for quite a while. I can respect the athleticism involved, & the strategies employed,

    but...

I don't understand knocking the shit out of someone who is 30 feet away from the puck, obviously not involved in the real action. What organized sport allows extreme violence that far away that has nothing to do with the play involving the ball?

I'm not against violence in sports. I used to be a huge boxing fan, & I've learned to appreciate MMA (although sometimes the wrestling where the fighters are neutralizing each other does get really boring).

Pummeling people away from the puck is a penalty.
    It’s called interference.
Pummeling people who have the puck is encouraged.:)
(Not in our pickup hockey games of course. We play no check, no puck lifting allowed).

    I guess that's the announcement.
    I don't watch hockey
