Did you at any point go on Academy's website and search to see if they had that ammo type/brand?

I can't imagine any other way that they'd know you had it in your hand before you checked out.

At major stadiums and a few Amazon (and other) brick and mortar stores they are doing checkout where cameras and AI know what you picked up and can charge you for it without even ringing it up. But that's always with a prescan of payment form or something similar to know it is you. Very strange without some other prompt for them to know it's you.

I went to Dothan AL recently and got a message from TripAdvisor asking about my trip when I got home. I dont have Trip Advisor App. Google maps or Ford navigation not sure how to know but, have heard that Meta has embeded their data collection into other apps as well so I am sure others do as well. I read today where an F150 was trying to access a chinese IP address.

I've searched the Academy site looking for ammo, but I don't know if I selected that particular brand & make (it's Hornady Black if that helps anyone). I have never purchased ammo on-line from Academy.

I'm convinced it has something to do with my new phone. And to my knowledge this has only happened to me at Academy. My wife, who got the same make & model phone as me, keeps her location function on. She didn't get the message, but her phone number probably isn't on file with Academy.

Before we checked out my wife selected a pair of shoes,
    there was no text message
asking if I liked the shoes.

Something sort of related. On-line I've read a few grumbles about the government wanting to track/tracking ammo purchases, but I never gave it much thought.

Hmmm. I recently downloaded the Etsy app.

I wouldn't be surprised if some type of agreement was hidden in all the electronic "paperwork" involved in purchasing a new phone.

Some people have unreasonably high expectations for little children.

When expectations don't match reality, that is stress!

I know people think I might be one of these people, but for me it's more like I give them a shot at doing extraordinary things and if they don't get it, no biggie. At least they're able to wrap their minds around working towards it.
    No expectations. Only hope.

Some fails are just simple fails. They're acceptable, easily forgotten, no trauma.

Other fails are not so simple. A child can view them as unacceptable, memorable, & even traumatic. If the child knows accomplishing an extraordinary thing is impossible, they could reject even making the attempt.

Of course the above depends on the individual child, parent, teacher, specific circumstances, & many other factors.

I'm sure you have heard about the shooting. Very sad. What? Charlie Kirk? Not that piece of shit. The one that occurred two miles from my work today, at Evergreen High School. Once the first 15 police units had passed, I knew something terrible had happened. Over the course of 45 minutes, saw probably 70 units heading there running code. Jefferson county of course. State patrol. But also Lakewood PD, Arvada, clear creek. Even CSP hazmat, Colorado Parks and Wildlife, probably some FBI based on the size and equipment on their suvs. Then saw the three ambulances heading out, about 10 minutes apart, running code. Transporting the two victims and the shooter. One of the branch manager's sons is on jeffco swat, so we did hear the shooter was down. Meanwhile my daughters are in school about an hour away, and I get to think about the traumatized parents worried about their kids. But hey, tots and pears. Now is not the time to talk about maybe some gun control. Or maybe spending money on Healthcare and mental health services. And of course let's not discuss how demonizing LGBT doesn't create more mental health issues. Maybe it's violent video games. Maybe it's fluoride in the water.

Thank you for the first hand account.
A school shooting not far from Columbine. It's PTSD for many.

I do not want to download your fucking app.

I rarely visit your site, & my stays are brief.

I don't want your fucking app clogging up my tablet or phone.

52 years old. Finally getting my first colonoscopy tomorrow morning. Have not eaten since 7p last night, only drimking powerade, sprite, and ginger ale. Just downed a glass of miralax. Three more in the next 1.5 hours. Also had 4 dulcolax tablets while I was leaving work. Then I wake up at 230 to drink more miralax for a couple of hours. There will be no sleep tonight. Let the games begin.

Had one earlier this year, and the prep is the worst part of it. Have to go back in 5 years, assuming I'm still alive, and the thought of drinking all that stuff again makes me cringe.

My FIL never drank plain water. After two major strokes caused dementia his aversion to water got even worse. When he had to go for a colonoscopy he had to drink the cleansing mix. My wife spent the night with her parents, coaxing her father into drinking the solution.

And to make matters even worse he was frequently incontinent. Because of his dementia we never knew if bowel movements just hit him suddenly, or if he ignored the signs he needed to poop.

    .....

My father -- with dementia caused by vasculitus -- refused to drink the cleansing solution. Which made my mother furious. Which made my father even more stubborn. Of course our stubborn mother didn't ask for help, and of course to be spiteful she didn't tell anyone about the colonoscopy appointment.

The people at the hospital weren't happy because taking the time to give my father an enema (plural?) disrupted their scheduling.

    .....

I just realized I'm repeating a previous post. Oh well, I took the time to tap it, I'm leaving it.

Hate how awful USPS tracking and delivery status are. Package shows since last Fri that it’d be delivered today, and still does. It hasn’t moved from the regional distribution center40 miles away since 5:03am yesterday. Zero chance it arrives today. Probably only 60/40 it makes it by tomorrow.

Seems pretty dumb with the tracking and scanning technology to be this wrong.

USPS changed it from showing as late and delayed to being delivered by Friday, then conveniently changed the status to "on time".

I've had USPS tracking showing processing after the package was delivered.

My favorite USPS "reason" for not delivering a package is "animal interference." It's happened twice. A cat was laying on one of the two chairs on our front porch .

Package JUST showed up today. Sat at the RDC 40 miles from my house from Nov 24th until this morning. Then all of a sudden at 7:38 this morning it was transferred to my local post office, and delivered 3 hours later.
