Also, I didn't realize Lori broke off the gear-shift and jammed it in the zombie's eye. I couldn't tell what it was the first time.

I thought it was the wiper/turn signal lever, which is mostly a fragile piece of plastic.

Though plenty pointy and sturdy enough to jam into an eyeball.

I wondered why so much green-screening, too...then I remembered...to save money. I mean, why hire a deer-wrangler when you can just draw a picture of a deer? Those actors really have to act.

Yeah, the wiper blade would make more sense, but wasn't she inside? Unless it was a back window wiper blade.

Didn't they film a lot of this in Georgia? They surely have cliffs or vistas they could look out over in Georgia.
Anyway, the zombie make-up is spectacular. Especially the one through the car window. Unless that too was cgi. In which case, still a great job.

I did not catch that at all.

I knew everyone reanimates in the comics unless they get a headshot, but it hadn't really been clearly done in the show so I wasn't really sure which way they were going to go since the show is clearly different from the comic

 

Not really a spoiler but showrunner Glen Mazzara interviews with TVGuide.com that by the end of season 2 (which is rapidly approaching) we will know what Dr. Jenner said. It only makes sense that this far into the show that the survivors get a clue about what results after any death

Despite the show being clearly different than the comic, I think the major structure of the zombie apocalyptic world will remain intact.

This spoiler summary is for the season 2, episode 10 of The Walking Dead titled "18 Miles Out".
Episode 10: "18 Miles Out"
Episode starts with Rick, Shane and Randall (the kid captured last episode) running away from walkers in an abandoned schoolyard. After some chasing around, cue theme music.

By the way, we don't see Daryl, T-Dog, Dale, Hershel, Patricia, Glenn, Jimmy, Carol or Carl AT ALL in the entire episode.

Flashback to earlier that day, Rick and Shane drive a bound and gagged Randall away from the farm (18 miles to be exact) to let him loose.

They pause briefly to have a heart-to-heart conversation about Shane's affair with Lori, how Otis really died, etc. Rick basically tells Shane to forget about Lori and fall in line.

Meanwhile in the farm, Beth is still lying in bed, now awake, and becomes suicidal. She unsuccessfully tries to convince Maggie to kill themselves together. Andrea and Lori have a bitchfight when Andrea says that Beth should be allowed to choose whether she wants to kill herself or not.

Eventually Beth cuts her wrists but flakes out at the last moment, so the cut isn't deep. Beth lives, and Andrea is banned from the house for leaving Beth alone and allowing her to attempt suicide.

Rick and Shane arrive at the schoolyard, leave Randall there, and prepare to walk away, but Randall reveals that he and Maggie went to the same school. They realize that Randall knows the location of the farm and Shane attempts to shoot the kid.

Rick intervenes, they argue and beat the crap out of each other. Shane almost kills Rick at one point. They accidentally release walkers from the school and Shane hides in a school bus. Rick leaves him there but decides to return at the last moment. He and Randall rescue Shane and drive back to the farm, with Randall bound again. Rick says they will likely; still have to kill the kid. He also tells Shane to stop being a douche, referencing Shane's attempt to kill him earlier. End episode.

Nope. No prison in sight, just a school. I think they have some more travelling to do, hopefully not too much.

Thank goodness The Walking Dead is on tonight! They cancelled new episodes of everything else for some show, I think it's called the Academy Awards? I dunno but I think we are not in their demographic and I like it that way.

 

I don't watch the academy awards anymore. It just dosent spark my intrest anymore. Not sure why.

 

Actually the Academy Awards this year will feature just about the one thing that would trump TWD for me. Muppets.

However, since they are only a tiny part of the show I'll record the Oscars and fast forward until I see Muppets.

 

Season 3 mild spoilery ahead, it's casting only so I'm not going to throw up spoiler tags.

If you haven't read the books, The Governor is... well he's kind of a big deal.

 

So am I three episode behind now, right? Last I saw Sophia had been put down by Rick, really should get the newer episodes from iTunes and and enjoy them in full quality.
