The new AF2011-A1 "Second Century" double-barrel pistol

    Yeah, you read that right: double-barrel pistol!

    Now, you probably know I'm not a weapons guy. I'm not only Canadian, but I'm a pacifist urban hippie as well.

    But that doesn't mean I don't like thinking about weapons in abstract ways, or that I'm opposed to using them virtually.

    That said, I came across this recently and I want to know what you think.



    Is this practical at all?

    Give me the rundown. What are the implications of using something like this?

    Is this a dumb idea?

    Not practical carry at all. Way to thick to be easily carried, the double ejection gives me worry about failures to eject, and the thing probably kicks like a mule. Given the design is new with a few custom parts, it's no where near tested enough for me to trust my life to it. I also have concerns about how well it would go over in court if I used that thing in a self defense shooting. That being said, I REALLY want to take that thing for a spin at the range. Looks like a great fun gun.

    It's stupid.

    You're shooting 460 grains. Not 4,000 grains. 4,000 grains is 1/2lbs. If you're shooting a 1/2lb projectile, you'd need a shoulder mounted weapon.

    You're also dealing with NFA violations since 1 trigger pull = more than one shot fired.

    Give me a 9mm pistol anyday over that monstrous piece of shit.

    I don't really know anything about any of this stuff, but it looks to me in the video like the pistol has two triggers. Wouldn't that be okay? I mean, it's like a double barrel shotgun, isn't it?

    Still seems stupid, but I figured that was why they put two triggers on it.

    Reread that part. It's referring to the total capacity of the weapon being discharged rapidly. 8 shots x 2 each = 16. 230 grains x 16 shots = 3680 grains.

    Amen. And make it a chaingun.
