It is assuredly not for the meek and un-initiated. 3 1/2 inch diameter, 18 inches long, fully detailed in terms of head, veins, and the like. Respect it, and you'll have trouble seeing or walking straight when you're done!

The price has always been the detriment into the purchase of one of these. Like the Phallix which are really beautiful but outrageously expensive: http://www.phallixglass.com/products/gold.php?cat=100
I found an alternative, the photos are much better and the color swirls seem to be totally identical: http://www.theadulttoyshop.com/glass-sex-toys/

Just a warning, heads up. Re earlier comments on Fake Hitachi wands. Right pain you can not buy them legally in the E.U.
I have also just purchased one of of ebay for £60 from a seller on the isle of wight. Very good service but when received, waay too many red flags.

    1. Did not come with a voltage convertor, hitachi only make in 110 volts, one reason you cant buy them here legit.
    2. Provided instructions were for a real wand, specifies 11o volts.
    3. Its weight, my original wand you could use as a club, this thing is 200grams lighter!
    4. No where near the vibrations. Also vibrations extend down into the shaft and generally more rattly, in the original they stay in the head.
    5. In the original the head is one piece moulded. This one has a foam sleeve over a head which slides off easily.
    6. The original had an engraved serial number near the incomign wire. This has nothing.
    7. The original has an electrical requirements sticker on the the opposite side to the above, by the incoming wire. This has nothing.
    8. It still comes with a two pin American style plug, but the original has one 'leg' wisder than the other so it can only be plugged in one way around.

Generally its feel and 'heft' are much less.

It may be a perfectly good vibrator but its lack of electrical compliance notifications is VERY scary for Something that plugs DIRECTLY into the mains and is held against a wet area of your body!. Its leaflet paperwork states it needs a converter yet it works off 240 volts, what is inside it? Who knows! What quality is the insulation and build? Who knows!

Further being charged £60 for what is obv a £20 vibrator is hugely annoying. No idea if it is the provider directly or his supply chain.

Please do make sure you get what you order, there is possibility these things are potentially very dangerous if not the original Hitachi.

All right, I see that no one here is very fond of the we-vibe, but has anyone tried the we-vibe tango? It sounds good, but I don't really want to drop $80 on it, only to find out it isn't as great as advertised.

The We-Vibe is good for when you need a little extra oomph. As for the Tango, I haven't tried it, but if it is similar in power level to the We-Vibe, I'd guess it's good for the same thing. The We-Vibe is not the strongest of vibes.

I bought one a few years ago when I was going to be spending a year apart from my wife. It was a good purchase.

I still use it from time to time (I go through phases where it's what I am into). The only draw back is the clean up.

Well, damn. The Magic Wand looks awfully awkward to use by oneself, though. Is it?

Ha...it's all good. It's Saturday night, people are all out being social and stuff.

Anyway, I've been doing a bit of research, because it occurred to me the other day that I bought my current vibrator just after my marriage broke up...which was a good seven years ago. It still does the job as intended, but I burn through batteries at a pretty alarming rate. Because of that, I've been looking into either rechargeable or plug-into-the-wall options. And I'm on a bit of a budget, $80 is a splurge for me.

But anyway, suggest away, people. Like I said, the Magic Wand looks awkward, but if it isn't, that's probably my best bet.

The Magic Wand is not awkward to use alone. It can be awkward to use in company, though.

As someone on Something Awful so eloquently put it, the Magic Wand is "basically a jackhammer tweaked to be suitable for lovin'." Actually, if you jump back to the last post of page 69 (lol) the discussion of the Magic Wand starts and goes on for the next page or so. It stimulates more than just one spot at once so you don't have to worry as much about clitoral overstimulation since it's indirect and worst case, it's strong enough that it works well for massaging muscles that aren't covered by your underpants.

It's an all-over kind of thing, and yes, I have also used it to work out kinks in my back and legs when my SO wasn't home to do it for me.

I don't know how I'd feel if a girlfriend of mine owned a sex toy...

I'm not trying to be a prude but I don't think she'd need one... Or if she did at least you know give me a chance first. I never have dated a girl who had one yet and if she went out and bought one I'd take it as a pretty harsh indictment to be honest

As for male sex toys... I just don't know if I could get passed the "this is weird" feeling to try and use one

It's just masturbation. Are you under the impression that your girlfriends don't masturbate?
