SW:TOR is my game of choice currently, and probably will be for a long while, even if everybody else does bail out.

Diablo III just came out, so I've been playing that a bit.

I still have my WoW sub, but haven't played in quite a while. I'm also in the Mists of Panderia beta and have been toying with the monk here and there, but I don't think I can sanely level another character in Azeroth...

It's been out for a while now, but I still play Civilization V
But I've also been into Poker lately.

    I'll get D3 when all the hub-bub dies down...and they've done a few patches.
I've got better things to do than give my time to frustration.

It's so much easier to level these days that you get to 80 in like 2 weeks instead of 4 months to get to 60.

Since my husband has been busy playing games like League of Legends and World of Tanks, I can finally access Skyrim again. I'm looking forward to it!

SO made me give in to her request (read: non-negotiable demand) that we get an Xbox 360 Elite with all three Mass Effects when we both move to Dubai.

Since we'll be at it anyway, I've decided to then get Battlefield 3 and Xbox Live Gold for 1 year as well.

I know, but after the years I've spent on that games grinding quests for no apparent purpose and running the same old bosses with new skins, I just can't get into it like I used to.

Magpie bought me Uncharted and Uncharted 2, so recently I've been playing those.

Still don't see all the fuss about MMO's. I guess I'm just not the target audience.

Neither do I. Always been a strategy and shooter guy. :D

My SO, though... loves MMO and role-playing games.

MMO's are like modern day D&D (Cause, y'know, actual modern day D&D is awful). Some people just aren't into imagination land and pretending you're somebody else that can go on adventures you would never be able to in real life...

    Different strokes and such...

Back into Starcraft 2 to try and finish the campaign. Also Dawn of War II, started the campaign again. I don't do much in the way of multiplayer in either game, probably because I'm so terrible, I get beat within a few short minutes.

Played the Guild Wars 2 beta event weekend a few weeks ago and I'm seriously awaiting the full release of this. After playing it, I'm bored with the other MMO's I was playing (Dungeons and Dragons online, Lord of The Rings online, EVE). Being a "casual" mostly solo gamer with not much time to play, I find the grouping system in GW2 fantastic. Takes all the petty drama out of grouping, and I actually found myself seeking out events and groups of other players.

Oh, and Steam had a really good sale on Company of Heroes last weekend, so I've kind of been toying around with that every once in a while.

Oh, it's not the roleplaying aspect of it that I don't like. Some of my all-time favourite games are Bioware titles. It's mostly the GIFT that keeps me out of online play.

That's awesome, and consequently exactly why I'm a solo MMO player!

Haha. There's that too, I suppose...

It's not really all that hard to avoid the fuckwads, though. At least, it never has been for me.

    Speaking of MMOs...

I'm going to give Age of Conan another shot. I gave up on it a while back because of performance issues, mainly lag. I was also geared up to play the new Star Wars game.

However, ST:TOR performed much worse, and would often grind to a halt without even crashing. Given I was paying $15/month, I cancelled my sub and decided to wait and see if they would improve things. (I, consequently, no longer trust the published minimum and recommended system requirements of any game.)

As it happens, in November 2011, the game engine used in Age of Conan was upgraded. They've promised all sorts of server- and client-side performance improvements, including optimization for 32-bit systems with lower memory (kinda like mine).

Considering it performed better than SW:TOR before, I'm going to give it another try and see if it's livable.

The good thing is that it's free to play. That, and it's actually pretty awesome if you're into fantasy. Play for free | Age of Conan | Funcom

The only issue is that the client download is currently ravishing more than 19GB of my monthly bandwidth allocation.
