On July 4th in 1976, the United States celebrated its Bicentential. The reality is the Declaration was voted on and approved by the newly formed "Continental Congress" on July 2nd, the document was sent to the printer on the 4th and majority of the signers penned their names on it on August 2nd 1776. Oh, and George Washington's childhood home never had any cherry trees for him to chop down.
