Maintenance Window: Monday, 06 August at 1:00-2:00 AM EDT

Hey folks,

I have a few updates to perform on the server. Usually I just do these in the background, but this time I'm going to need to take the mysql server offline, which means the site will go down. For that reason, the site will be going down briefly Monday between 1:00 and 2:00 in the morning. Since most of you will be in bed for work Monday, I figure this is probably the best window. If you are awake and need something to do, you can go watch the Mars Curiosity rover landing, which will be taking place at the same time.

We should only be offline for a few minutes, but a career in IT and system administration has taught me to always schedule maintenance windows for longer than you think you'll need. Connectivity may be spotty during that period. If I need to communicate anything else during that time I'll do it via our Facebook page, so make sure you go like or subscribe or whatever on that if you want any updates.

 

Maintenance complete, and we're back online. Our software updates took about 4 minutes, so right in the 3-5 minute window I was predicting.
