One thing I want to know is, why was the lone field walker that Shane sees from his side of the car (passenger) coming into town, on the same side of the car going out of town, cutting across the field at the same angle as before?

Otherwise, great kick-ass episode. Loved it.

LOL. They* don't pay me enough to ponder that better than coming up with, continuity error?
I agree tho', great eppy. I liked finally seeing this guy:

The fight scene between Shane and Rick was pretty awesome so I'm embedding AMC's 'squee fest' of videos about it. One is the actual scene in it's completion, the other is what I found to be very interesting behind-the-scenes 'making of' the Shane-Rick fight scene with the senior stunt coordinator, the stunt doubles and the actors getting shown the how-to's.

    Shane and Rick's brawl
"I don't think you can keep them safe." Get into the action and feel the emotion with the full fight scene between Rick and Shane.

If I'm remembering correctly, they said on The Talking Dead that the guy that played that ^ walker, also played other parts, as well.
One of them being the lone field walker. He's like 6'6" and he's a stuntman/actor. I don't remember his name, though.

Yeah, I've noticed 'recurring' walkers, now. This guy is memorable, though. I'd done screencaps of him from the AMC promo for the second half of season 2 and I've been waiting for him to show up! He was the first walker out the window that Shane busted open, I think.
The stunt department prefers thin body types for their 'star' walkers--so they looked emaciated...which goes to the 'starving zombie' thing of course. :p
They like tall & thin even more.
Not all Atlanta-area stunt-actors are of that body type so we see many walkers with oversize clothes to create the illusion of thinness, somewhat. No one said that exactly (that I know of) but why all the super-huge clothing on so many of the walkers? They didn't all wear baggy clothes prior to their demise. The exception was the very bloated well-walker who did his scenes in 100-degree heat.
    Haha. I love zombies.

No, I wouldn't either, ralphie250 which I admit I was a bit disappointed about when stuntmaster Greg Nicotero explained why they looked for thin walkers. I think we could be recently-turned walkers tho'. Fresh zombies are being made all the time, right? ;)

I think it was the writer of the comics (can't remember his name off the top of my head) that said in one of the Talking Dead shows that they were going to try to start having bigger walkers in coming episodes.
It was the one with Brian Posehn, the comedian-geek.
They were talking about the walkers being skinny, and the writer said something about his own weight (he's a big man) and Brian said he would like to be a walker, too. (he's a big man, as well)

I might be misremembering the whole thing. But I don't think so.
If you want, I guess looking on YouTube using the right search terms for that episode might bring it up.
Fangirl will know the writer's name.

    Muchas gracias, mi amigo.

He was probably fat to start with, but I think a lot of that was also water weight. As in, bloated, like dead bodies found in water. My opinion, only. :)

Well if you want to be technical, in watching the behind the scenes video of the making of the well-walker scene (see upthread or amctv.com) the stunt actor is a man of normal size. He's in a zombie fat suit which I believe they implied was in part due to 'bloating'--sort of like a corpse that has drowned.
Also to be precise, I know better than to state 'all walkers are thin.'

OMG. So many spoilers today my head is reeling. Do not read unless you wish to be spoiled for the next two episodes! For now, just the photos but they speak volumes!
We'll start in easy: the first spoiler photos won't give away anything important like who dies or doesn't:

Now for the heavy stuff: ("Sorry, bro'.")

When Carl agitated the walker that had been stuck in the mud, the walker got free. Later Dale finds a cow that been attacked and promptly becomes a victim himeslf, not by being bitten--by having his intestines ripped out. Daryl finds him and must put him down due to the extent of his injuries and the chaos that is enveloping the farm.

    But it gets...worse!

WALKING DEAD - 'JUDGE, JURY, EXECUTIONER' EPISODE 2.11 - SPOILERS
Above: When we still liked 'Dale') a/k/a before they failed especially to grab the nuances of the comic book Dale though comic book Dale must have suffered longer than TV Dale (played capably by Jeffrey DeMunn), having had one zombie-bit leg 'surgically ''removed and the other removed as 'dinner' for cannibals (CREDIT AMCtv.com)
The manner in which 'Shane dies' is pretty imaginative-sounding from what I've read of it. It sounds terrifying for the characters and riveting for the audience. Great combo.
Read on and be even more spoiled.
    WALKING DEAD - 'JUDGE, JURY, EXECUTIONER' EPISODE 2.11 - SPOILERS via/Credit: SpoilerTV.com

Carl's 'unintended consequences' are that he stumbles away from the group down to the swamp where the quicksand is-- where Rick and Hershel found the 2 walker neighbors before 'barnmagedon' and he provokes it and finally the walker struggles free of the quicksand. Carl runs back to the farm and fearing to be in trouble, doesn't tell anyone.
Meanwhile, Dale's fighting to not kill Randall and lose their humanity but no one agrees so Dale goes off and walking through the field. He stumbles upon a mangled cow and gets attacked by the walker (that little dumbass) Carl set free. Dale yells for help but by the time the group gets there the walker had ripped his stomach open. Hershel says its too late. Andrea begs Rick to 'put him down' but he can't and Daryl steps in as Ricks badass Number 2 and says "Sorry brother" and BOOM! \Synopsis
"Episode 211 ' starts in a shed with Daryl beating the crap out of Randall until he relents and reveals that his group has about 30 people, including women and children, and that he 'doesn't know' where they're staying since they're always on the move. He also says that they're heavily armed and tells a story about how they once found a guy with two young daughters while out scavenging and proceeded to rape the girls, letting their father live so he could watch. Daryl beats him even harder. /Cue theme music.
Daryl leaves the shed and reveals to the others what he found out. Based on that knowledge, Rick decides that they must kill Randall. Only Dale argues against it and asks Rick for one day to talk to everybody and convince them to let Randall live. He gets no support from Daryl, Hershel, Shane or even Glenn. Then there's this big discussion about whether to go through with it. Dale vehemently objects, telling everyone that this is murder and means forever giving up hope for a civilized society. In the end, only Andrea (!) sides with Dale. Majority rules, so Randall is to be executed.
There's also a moment between Hershel and Glenn at one point where the old man gives Glenn his father's watch along with his blessing to Glenn's relationship with his daughter.
Meanwhile, Carl sneaks into the shed to look at Randall who begs Carl to help him escape. Shane finds Carl there and drags him out, telling him to stop trying to get himself killed. Carl then immediately goes and calls Carol an idiot for believing that Sophia is in heaven. Rick asks him to apologize and start thinking before opening his mouth. Carl then steals Daryl's gun, finds a walker stuck in a swamp, throws stones at it and then needs to shoot it. Before he can do that, the walker, which has broken free attempts to grab Carl, who freaks out and runs away.
At nightfall, Rick takes Randall to the barn and prepares to shoot him, but Carl comes in to watch. Rick can't kill Randall in front of his kid, so he decides to hold Randall in custody for now. Near the woods, Dale finds a mutilated cow and is attacked by the same walker from before, who freed itself from the swamp to follow Carl. Dale doesn't get bit, but the walker tears open his guts before it's killed by Daryl. Dale's wounds are too grave and Daryl performs a mercy killing by shooting him in the head./ End episode."

    The Walking Dead - Episode 2.12 - 'Better Angels' : UNEDITED /March 2, 2012. MAJOR SPOILERS

    DESCRIPTION OF HOW SHANE DIES:
    (unedited) March 2, 2012.

"Lori starts a dramatic war in Episode 2.09 where she tries to convince Rick to kill Shane. Rick thinks about it but shrugs it off. After Lori sees that Rick is still not acting, she has a talk with Shane and puts into his head that if Rick wasn't around they would still be together. This makes Shane change AGAIN, (he had finally made peace and Lori fucks him up again). Lori warns Rick that Shane will probably attempt to kill him, Rick denies it and says they've made peace. Anyway Shane decides to kill Rick and lures him into the forest chasing after Randall. Of course Rick isn't stupid he realizes nothing is adding up and tries to give Shane a chance to abandon his plans. Believe it or not Rick loves Shane like a brother, anyway he finally calls Shane on it and says he knows what he's trying to do.
So it starts with Rick standing off with Shane, they're kinda on plain land I guess outside the barn (I mean far from it, like just outside a forest, and it's moonlight). Rick says something like "so this is where you planned to do it".
Shane says something I can't quite make out, I think he was acting oblivious and playing stupid because Rick says something like "at least have the balls to call this what it is....murder" so I can assume that Shane was playing dumb.
Rick circles Shane talking about how you think if you go back to the farm alone they'll believe whatever fucking story you cooked up (not exact quote, cept the fucking part) and Shane tells him to hush up and the group will believe him.
Rick doesn't buy a word that Shane says.
Shane finally admits "it ain't goin to be easy, but Lori and Carl will get over you" and you can tell by the look on Rick's face that he's starting to lose his patience. Shane adds "they done it before, they just gone have to" and pulls out his gun to aim at Rick's face. Rick asks why? Why now? He then says "I thought we tried to work this out". Shane laughs and says "we tried to kill each other!" (referring to the fight in 18 Miles Out) with his gun still on Rick.
Shane continues to mock by saying "ya think we're just gonna forget about it and run into the sunset together?" Rick asks him "are you gonna kill me in cold blood? Screw my wife? Have my children... my children! Call you daddy? Is that what you want?"
He says something else that I couldn't make out, and Shane replies something like asking him what does he know what to live for or something? I'm sorry I couldn't hear it though I could be wrong.
Shane talks about how Rick has no idea what he had to, and still has to live with. Shane dares Rick to raise his gun, but Rick refuses. Shane taunts him by saying "what happened Rick, I thought you said you weren't the good guy anymore?" He continues to mock, saying that he's a better father than Rick and that he's better for Lori than Rick because he's a better man than Rick and he'll actually fight for Lori (the stuff that Rick basically told him in '18 Miles Out' Shane is twisting his words against him, and this pisses off Rick.)
Shane says that Rick came back and destroyed everything. Pause. He continues by saying Rick has a broken wife and a weak boy. He also adds that Rick doesn't even know how to fix it, he then pushes his gun closer to Rick and tells him to raise his gun.
Rick asks something like you gonna shoot an unarmed man? Pause. Rick slowly goes for his gun and then pulls it out as if to drop it. Shane keeps his gun trained Rick. Rick tries to negotiate saying "there's a way back from this, nothing happened here, we gonna lay down our guns and walk back to the farm."
Shane looks conflicted, not knowing that Rick has drawn his knife (the one you see him use in '18 Miles Out'), finally when Shane doesn't expect it, Rick lunges his knife into Shane's chest.
Even worse, HERE'S A BIG SPOILER.
    in case you missed it...
SHANE COMES BACK TO LIFE AS A ZOMBIE! - Carl shoots him, the whole thing is pretty fucked up but I won't give too much away .
All this causes Rick to slowly change into a 'Shane' if you will. Believe me the show is going somewhere so crazy that Shane's death will not even be a burden, he served his purpose by helping Rick's character transform.''

The second half of this current season has kept me intrigued. A lot of the show I heavily criticize because of the lack of logic. But in a way, they're like the morons on True Blood. And, to give them credit, there's a lot of people to deal with, lots of changes. But the main thing that initially bothered me about the show was the pacing. Some episodes are so dang long and dragged out story wise, others freaking rush by like a 30 min show.
This last half season has been rushed out, lots of stuff going on. I'm enjoying it.
The latest episode made me cry at the end. So sad. :(
Looking forward to the last two episodes.
