GOP Strategist Rick Wilson Torches Republicans With Scathing Trump Loyalty Rules

    Gotta luv the sarcasm...

Between the conservative led Lincoln Project and Republicans For Rule Of Law
You'd would hope that the leadership of the GOP would figure out they're going to hell in a handbasket...and stop that slide.

But I think they're too far gone.
And my intuition says they're bought & blackmailed by Russian funds. (at least those like McConnell and Graham, if not others)

The only thing that will stop them, is pain
Pain from loss of power and position.
Perhaps even jail...if their influence source are revealed.

Let's hope for the vote...t turn against them.
You may even have some conservatives leading the charge.

Rick Wilson is part of a group of prominent Republicans who are working against Trump’s reelection as part of the Lincoln Project.

Today the Lincoln Project released its first digital video, “MAGA Church” highlighting the hypocrisy of those who claim the mantle of Jesus while supporting or ignoring President Donald Trump’s immoral acts. The video features Evangelical pastors, including members of Trump’s influential Evangelical Advisory Board. Highlighted in the video are White House faith advisor Paula White, Robert Jeffress, Franklin Graham, Michele Bachmann and Jerry Falwell Jr.

“Donald Trump has hijacked the GOP, the conservative movement and now, with the help of these charlatans, one of the largest faith communities in America,” said Jennifer Horn, of the Lincoln Project.

“It is clear that in exchange for power and money these “pastors” have been tasked with recasting Trump’s absurdities and moral failures as nothing short of prophetic divinity.” “President Trump’s corruption and dishonesty destroys every person and institution he touches,” Horn continued. “But with faith leaders like these, who spin vices as virtues, the President believes he is exempt from the wages of sin as long as he delivers power to those Evangelical leaders who so clearly crave it.”

“Americans of faith, deserve leaders who want to make the world in which we live a better place through their belief. Those Evangelical leaders who lay their loyalty and faith on the altar of Donald Trump are betraying their congregants and their country.”

For some reason, except for the one millennial gay guy running for President, Democrats aren't touching the religion issue at all. And focus on helping the Jewish and Muslim people, while the right thing to do, isn't going to address the issue. Which is that a large section of the population would rather vote for the GOP to live in The Handmaid's Tale version of America where they have absolute control. This isn't about figuring out why people are leaving the church and improving, it is about using whatever means necessary to win politically and implement their policies on people who aren't in their church.

If Pence was President and acting this way, it would be a lot more understandable and difficult to counter politically. However Trump is the right-wing media's ideal President that won't compromise and just force things to get them done without worrying about political repercussions. Trump is a complete mess and hypocrite though, maybe the church sees that he is very similar to their leadership, since there is only 1 or 2 of the 10 commandments he hasn't broken.

It will be interesting to see if the Democrats will get questioned on the conservative issues like abortion (pro-life points), church/state interaction, and morality/ethics in the next few months.

Going for a triple play here...
    Can Anyone Save the G.O.P.?

The Real Risks of Republicans’ Burying Their Heads in the Sand

    Trump’s Evil Is Contagious

Now these are all from the NYT, which is known for leaning one way a bit.
But there is a drumbeat now of how the GOP may be shooting itself in the foot.

    Question is, will it matter???

I doubt it...most have sold their souls.
Made a deal with the devil.

I actually feel for the Never Trumpers or those that may want him gone.
What can you do to save your party?

It's not going to be like last time, where the impeaching party was punished.
Because that was small beans and the public knew it...slapped your hands for drama and distraction on such piddling shit.

The Dems are gunned up...because this IS significant.
    And the public knows it.

I wonder if the GOP senators will vote to bar him from running for office again. I don't know how they could allow him to run in 2020, but block him from running in 2024 if he loses this year, but I have a feeling that many would support that (including Ted Cruz). Although if he loses, he might end up in jail for the 2024 election.

Wake up, Republicans. Your party stands for all the wrong things now.

Which is why I've said that I'm more anti-GOP than pro Dem.
The Dems aren't perfect...but this is a false equivalence.
The current GOP has taken rottenness to it's core.
The non-humorous equivalent of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels
Say anything, do almost anything for party against the other...whether right for the nation or not.
    Petty politics.

    I wish it were otherwise.

Maybe there needs to a new party of conservatives.
There seems to be quite a few now as standing for values, not just power.

GOP senators reportedly 'blindsided' by Bolton revelations

    Oops
    Sounds familiar
Y'know, the definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result?

    IDIOTS, you're supporting a gangster!!!
And not even a rational one at that.

    Look in the mirror.
splash some water on the face
    save your soul

The GOP doesn’t deserve to survive this debacle

    I agree whole-heartedly
And this is from a previous Republican, now Independent (same as myself)

    Corruption, complicity and toxicity.
    KISS

This is what the GOP has come to.
We can only hope to see change, for the better.

    But the party should die.
And another conservative group with integrity comes forth.
Another party like Lincoln espoused to and would belong.

    This one has rotted.

Joe Biden Could Be Impeached by GOP Over Ukraine if He Wins, Iowa Senator Says

    Just pathetic
    Rotten to the core.

But thank you for showing your hand ahead of time.
It will give the Dems a chance to cover their bases if Biden should win.

...talk about invalidating elections (beforehand yet...geez)

If I were the Dems, I'd be ready for ANY election deceit and manipulation (foreign or domestic)
And BOTH have shown they're capable AND have done it before.

    Sad, we've gotten to this.

But the GOP has shown itself already complicit and willing to most anything to win.
    Wish it were otherwise.

Biden and the Dems have to be ready for anything.
If I were Pelosi, I'd be using every power capable as Speaker to take steps.
Not anything criminal...but to prepare for ANY criminal action. (if not prevent it, if possible)

Engage Roberts and the court system to lock it down.

This is some 3rd world country Tyranny level shit.
    Very scary shit.

Some are slowly going insane, if they haven't gotten there yet.

    We're not being paranoid
    They've already shown it.
    Let's not be in denial.

If we're going to keep the US a fair and good nation.
    Sad...incredibly sad.

Romney votes to convict Trump on abuse of power, making history in the process — The Washington Post

One black (sheep) elephant in the room
    The rest are strangely yellow.

Get ready for even more antics

And I make you a bet that, he’s already forgotten that he can be impeached...again.
    And that Pelosi, hasn’t
(and is more likely to pull that trigger again unlike the past, given her reaction to the SOTU)

But considering Romney did so this time
It wouldn’t be unexpected that more GOP "may" next time.

And I don’t think the House leadership gives a flying crap how this affects the primaries...because it didn’t this time.

Let’s see how the GOP reacts now
Especially when more crime likely comes out.
A leopard can’t change its spots
And this one likes eating people’s faces (as the meme goes)

    A random, sort of, thought:

A business owner knows that a powerful manufacturer is conspiring with distributors to force certain businesses out of business. And goes along with it because it benefits them.
