Being sick for three months straight basically derailed any progress I'd made with my diet or exercise. But I'll be back at it soon enough. I just wanted to give myself a couple of weeks where my ear didn't hurt, as I had an infection in my mastoid, and it left behind some nerve pain. Now I'm all good though

Squatted 405 for 3 sets of 5 tonight. Has been a slow road back to what I was squatting before switching to high bar squats. My shoulders and elbows are thanking me. I'm now tired.

Day #1 of considering a daily workout medicine.

I have been really having issues the past few days with blood circulation. Numb limbs, blacking out upon standing, etc. I thought I was through this, but then my kids threw massive fits before the gym so we stopped going for a couple of weeks. And it's back. So...

I will be working out daily. And I will want some support. So that is why I am in this thread.

Have you tried yoga? My circulation and vestibular issues really benefit from restorative yoga, and I can get cardio from a vinyasa class.

    Also, good for you!!

I have. It is like a roller coaster, I feel very dizzy and tingly and frequently black out as we transition from high to low and low to high. Tai Chi is a better fit for me, and I do that at home. I find that doing 30-60 minutes of cardio like riding bike, rowing, and elliptical are the best for me personally.

    Today is good.
30 minutes on an eliptical after a very active day with kiddos.

Doing cardio every day and burning 400 - 425 calories, lifting (chest, back, shoulders, triceps, biceps, quads, calfs, abs) 3 times a week resting two days in between (so Monday/Thursday/Sunday/Wednesday/Saturday/Tuesday/Friday).

Keeping the intake to 1500 -- 1800 calories or so, 1200 minimum, 1900 max. No alcohol. Somewhat protein intensive, 130 or so grams daily, but not Atkins. Limiting sugar.

I was 220 when I started this 6 months ago, this morning the scale read 173.

Today I walked. It was a little over a mile. I wanted to do more, but I did something. And that's improvement.
I also played my neighbor's piano. That's not physically exhausting, but it was good for my mental health. I need to play more music.

So my new gym opened today. Yesterday was a walkthrough to see the facility, and today was the first day for workouts. I did tour the place yesterday and took a bunch of pics, so I may post some later. But this place is beautiful. And so well equipped. 4 flat benches, 2 decline, and 2 incline. Dumbbells got to 150 lbs. Two complete and separate double universal cable stations. Two complete lines of cyber and lifefitness machines. So even things like the seated calf raise has 2 separate machines. Plus some other individual pieces and some hammer strength machines. 3 lane pool, sauna, etc. 2 upright tanning booths, 5 hydro massage recliners. Of course aerobics and cardio machines and a cardio theater. 60,000 square feet of goodness. Everything is clean and new and shiny. Three separate astroturf areas for kettlebells and plyometrics and so forth. The cherry on the top is it is two minutes from my house. I timed it. When I was working out this morning there were maybe 30 people there. But I know it will get busier. Such is life.

I went for a run this morning. Then I tilled some grass with a shovel to make a space for a new garden bed. And lined it with heavy rocks. I am feeling great.

Also, last night I slept in my winter running leggings, which are basically compression leggings. I slept much better and awoke not feeling groggy and tingly. I think I might need to order more of those and just sleep in them every night. It tells me that my blood pressure is dipping too low again.

Today I mowed the front lawn. It went quickly. Just in time, rain is forecast for this evening.

I have no motivation this morning for a workout. I guess we'll have a dance party instead.

Put up my new rack in my garage after moving and have been working out at home. Still do cardio at Planet Fitness, but for $10 a month, it's still cheaper than buying good equipment.

Benched 365 for two today, even though I'm not used to my new bench yet. I'm hoping to bench, dead, and squat enough to improve my strength, but will also be trying to lean down, so I'll settle for whatever I get.

I survived kettlebell class. Did an anti-street-festival festival with an Ab Blast class and a yoga class on the street today. Walked 3.5 miles around, too. Going to soak in some epsoms for awhile before tackling the entire apartment for cleaning. Core and hips are killing me.
Tomorrow is yoga at the new gym-home we've found. I'm still trying to figure out if I can swing a 5am workout in Mondays when I work 8 - 8. :/

I mowed the lawn today. And the neighbor's front lawn. I should just ask for her key and mow the backyard, her gardener never comes. Not sure I want to tack maintaining another 1/4 acre or so of sod on to my to-do list. Today I walked 4+ miles, pushing the lawnmower.

Daniel_ The devil made me do it...

    Long time, no post.

I've been locked to my desk for months (see blog for details) and my weight has not been what I want. I'm still under 100kg, but need to get below 95kg to be no longer "overweight".

What I've REALY noticed is that just the 4 or 5 kg up from my lowest weight of 94kg brings back gastric reflux, indigestion, and from time to time very minor symptoms of IBS.

In part, I'm sure it's the lack of movement in my day, plus the levels of fat in my diet. When I avoid fried food and walk the mile to work regularly for a couple of weeks it improves dramatically, so, I think I need to be more focused on getting back to the low 90s and then see if I can actually get to a number starting with 8. It seems insurmountable, but when I was 135kg getting below 130 seemed impossible.
