Do you have one of these? The world sometimes can feel like utter crap sometimes. As humans, we tend to focus on negative aspects of things and we become our own worst critics.

If you don't, this is a space for you to just write down the little victories or things to be grateful for. This isn't to compare to others as we all have our own loads to carry. Compassion to yourself and others goes a long way.

Post something you achieved today no matter how small it may seem to you.

    OR

Post something you are grateful for today.

I'm grateful that I have supportive friends.

I got out of bed even though I thought I wasn't going to and I keep going back to bed, but I also keep getting out of bed. I'm sitting typing this from my computer instead of from my iPad or phone. So that's a small victory.

After hosing the raspberry pi again, I decided to just remove that from the equation and put this on one of my webservers. Now to test it out before I build a new pi.

I am grateful to have experienced the community built around a local coffee shop run by friends of mine from 2015 to 2017.

While they sadly disbanded and closed up shop three years ago, I am equally grateful—if not more—that one of the owners has found a new business partner to revive the business in a new location only two blocks from my house.

Someone gave me a little speaker that when you put something on top of it it plays it back amplified. No plugs, no cables.

The on/off switch was loose so when turned it on the switch pushed itself in making it hard to turn off. I took it apart and reseated the on/off switch so it was now easy to use and functional.

Also I got invited to a community builder summit. It ended with them inviting attendees to get a certification which will be a way to show you know and understand how to build and manage social media communities. 4E3EBC61-181C-4AD7-A221-1FCEDC157357.jpeg

I had an unexpected interview today. I took an early slot. I really need to take later in the week slots if offered. But I killed it, even when their job description was very vague and aloof. I honed in and got laser-focused asking them what they expected and how they saw someone fitting in. I then explained how I fit their spot.

They asked if when I would be available to start. I explained that I'm not currently in negotiations with anyone, meaning I'm exactly where I am with their process, first pass, but I cannot say what 2 weeks will bring. I will have to evaluate it at that point because I can't promise I'm available without something tangible like an offer. If an offer germinates and starts to blossom when they contact me again, I'll let them know if I'm still available.

I got some money back from the old car lease applied to the new lease. I also got excess wear and tear removed as I know we didn't leave it in that condition and gave it back with both keys and fobs.

I have more to do tomorrow.

    But I killed it today.

I'm happy and thankful that my MIL appears to be conquering the fever that had her hospitalized over the weekend. Not Covid, thankfully.

I'm once again grateful that my MIL was able to beat the UTI infection she had this week. She did wind up back in the hospital but they were able to IV her meds and it looks like she might be out Sunday.

I'm also grateful that my wife and her sister had the thought to take mom out of home hospice and send her to the hospital.

I found my social security card. My unemployment benefits are still not paid out because there was so much fraud earlier in the year that I have to prove who I am with paystubs, driver's license, and SS card. I was able to get all that together today and submitted it via the email system that I just discovered on Monday with the help of a local person at the DOL office nearby.

I'm grateful to still be getting first interviews. It seems the these tend to be workstyle or culture checks, and then the next one a technical interview.

I'm glad to be getting to the technical interviews.

I'm really not feeling it this morning.

I'm trying to be positive. I'm trying to not let stinking thinking pollute my brain.

I have an interview in 12 minutes.

So here's my gratitude for today.

    I'm alive.
