The Shamrock Hotel, at the edge of what would become the Texas Medical Center. The design was pretty basic, but it was one of the social centers of Houston. It took forever to demolish; apparently it was built to last.

Edit: This is an old photo. Many of these buildings have been demolished and replaced by much larger ones.

Bethany Hamilton. An amazing surfer, and she does it with one arm.

 

What trials (not a typo) riders can do is amazing. Videos are better.
