Well, that shouldn't be too hard.;) I had to walk in to the polling place with a clothes-pin on my nose to vote for Hillary.

    Dems 2020 Bracket.001.jpeg

I whipped this up for the start of the NCAA basketball March Madness season that starts in a few days. It actually helps norrow down who should win, and helps to make people do the research on all of the candidates, since you aren't just picking your favorite out of the 15/16 running. But you have to know why you think Amy Klobuchar would be better than John Hickenlooper for instance.

It is actually a better way to pick a nominee in my opinion too. Especially if the first round was in May 2019, then the second round was in November 2019, and the final round was in May 2020 with a 4 way vote with the convention allowing the 3rd and 4th place candidate to shift their votes to the 1st or 2nd place one until someone has 50% + 1 of the voters. It might favor the big names and those with lots on money who can have a national campaign right from the beginning though.

Might as well, considering how long America does this crap.
These days, I kinda wish for Parliamentary elections...at least we could change PMs with a vote of no confidence. (much better than Impeachment and sticking around with a turd)

I see in the next tier...according to current politics, trends and flavors.
Biden, Beto, Warren, Amy K, Bernie, Booker, Harris/Castro (tie), Gillibrand
Man that Harris/Castro lineup would be a game...could go either way.

    If I had my druthers
3rd tier would be very hard to predict...the field is more balanced. - I'd say Biden wins against Beto, Warren has more name recognition and favor than Amy K, Booker may upset Bernie (there may be bad refs again...), Gillibrand would likely lose against either Harris or Castro (most interesting and unpredictable bracket so far)

4th tier would be up for grabs...I couldn't predict, all good players (but also they make mistakes)

    All speculative and IMHO

Frankly, I'd have to truly listen to what everyone had to say and go over debates...I do actually pay attention.

    On the GOP bracket.
I'd hope for MOST anyone than Trump. (yes, there are worst than Trump out there)
Hopefully he gets disqualified due to cheating. :D

It's gratifying not to see Hillary's name in the Demo Bracket.;)

On the Republican Bracket, it's hard to see anyone but Trump. He's the only one with a real constituency. And, like it or not, that constituency is both strong and loyal.

I kind of want to know why they wouldn't want Bernie or Tulsi to be the nominee? Are they worried about the political policy fights and reducing financial corruption from privatization?

I am not a big fan of Buttigieg, as he is the candidate I expect that Trump wants to run against. And even if he wins, the gay thing will lead the racists who were anti-Obama to come back out in force. I want a candidate who won't be controversial.

Any more, no candidate can avoid being controversial. Once the dirt-diggers start their backhoes they can find dirt on anyone. Even if the candidat is clean as a hound's tooth something can be found, even if there's nothing there. Look at Joe Biden. Even if there's no real dirt to be dug... and I don't see any... they have still managed to make him look like a creepy guy.

Would you want your wife or sister on the platform with him? Or your daughter or grand daughter?

Joe's just a a touchy-feely guy. My wife and daughters can take care of themselves. From what I've seen. I doubt they'd be offended

Compared to the porn star screwing, pussy grabber in chief, Joe is a flippin' saint.

In my home town, in the church I grew up in, the pastor was one of those touchy-feely guys. He just wouldn't respect another person's personal space. Didn't matter if you were eight or eighty-eight, male or female, Pastor Cliff was always in your face. Not in a confrontational way, but always nose-to-nose, about a foot apart. And too much cologne.:( There wasn't any hanky-panky going on (in a small town there are very few secrets) but he finally made enough folks unconfortable that the church board encouraged him to accept another calling.

Joe Biden has probably been powerful and privileged long enough that no one has had the guts to tell him to just stop it.

I have been waiting for Biden to hurry up and announce before I updated the list again. But there have been a lot of other entrants into this crowded field too. 21 have now announced, and I don't see any one of them as a clear front-runner on the Democratic side (with over 50% of the vote). And it will be a difficult for any of them to win in 2020 if the campaign gets dirty, both in the primary and the general. I also wonder if the amount of candidates will make it too confusing and will take too much time for people to determine who they will want to vote for, so they just won't show up.

‘A dream ticket’: Black lawmakers pitch Biden-Harris to beat Trump

    Now THIS may be interesting...
I'd have to hear the platform first (and I'm certainly not voting for Mr T)

But this would combine 2 name players...old-school establishment (with cash) with newer-school (or mid) establishment (with a bit of cash too)
Get the female and black vote in for the assist to a previous likable VP
Start with the anchor, with a youthful enough flow into a 2nd administration after for the first female prez
Locking in potentially the Dems for 16 years.

AND so far, both their positions are middle/left and fairly sane, stable and skilled.
Both knowledgeable on how the system works and is played.

This would be a good ticket.

The only ones they wouldn't get are the left idealist purists in the primary and the 35% hard T voters in the general.
    Good independent catch.

If they'd being willing to play hard ball against Mr. T, they'd most likely would win.
BUT you cannot be shy or scared at vs the orange guy that will use ALL loathsome plays against you. They hit and hit back hard, but still be respectful.
AND realize the Russians and other instigators will still be there muddying the waters, if not outright hacking.

So, either is would be theirs to lose (Mr. T isn't making friends) or they dig up something terrible on either...or the chaotic gaff landslide affect.

Hopefully media would restrain themselves to substance not blood & dirt, since they've been beaten in the last few by Mr. T and his gang of thugs.

I'd consider it. Even Wall Street would be into it, especially since Mr. T is rocking the boat with his trade wars and big mouth.

Hmm...I wonder if Biden would go for it??
    Would Harris?

Perhaps put in Buttigieg as a 3rd player in either administration (Sec o State?)
Then have him gain cred and name at the Fed level
And run for a 3rd Dem term (he's IS a smooth dude, so far) and a new Prez angle with allowing the gay vote gain even more acceptance in the new genration

For a potential lock for 24 years.
That would kill the GOP for a long time (unless the Dems did something stupid and there was a rebellion vote swing back to the GOP for some reason...or find a sane more smooth candidate than the Dems)
Or the GOP becomes sane with some integrity again, but its not looking good for them.

Eh, I'm getting ahead of myself.
Let's just focus on getting the asshole out now.
    One term at a time...

And this is what I predict the outcome of a Biden-Harris v Trump-Pence race would be. Wisconsin and Florida would be the only swing states that Democrats could get, but Nevada, Virginia, and Maine might go for Trump. Pennsylvania might go for Trump again too. Heaven help us if Maine does go Democratic and it is a 269 to 269 outcome. It would be up to the new house to vote, but as one vote per state. Wyoming would get as many votes as California.

Biden-Harris would be a disaster and a rerun of the 2016 campaign. It would seem like the DNC elites and liberal corporate donors rigged the system again, there would be no enthusiasm, the minority vote would get hammered from the far left with these are the architects of the prison-industrial complex and making people think that minorities in the inner city are all criminals. The health insurance executives would be shown celebrating on their yachts that they defeated Medicare For All. On-line comments would be 10 to 1 in favor of Trump again. Trump would hold big rallies in multiple cities per day. Biden and Harris would probably hold a few townhalls and expensive per plate dinners in the big cities.

Abortion Fight or Strong Economy? For G.O.P., Cultural Issues Undercut 2020 Message

Uhh...I think the GOPs irrational exuberance on pro-life laws may have shot themselves in the foot.
Question is...will it bring out more of the vote for the opposition??

Frankly, I don't know how the left could get any angrier...and they're certainly going to vote (those who DO vote...where a good percentage won't)
So they're dinging themselves on independents.

Now this is interesting...from Fox News yet...
Fox News Poll: Biden up by double digits in Democratic race

And even a double-digit lead in a potential General election vs. Mr. T. :p

Nah, nah...I don't wanna get my hopes up.
We're living in the Twilight Zone now and everything we do is fucked up.

I won't believe it until I see it.
The Russians must be distracted by other nation-state manipulations...they're not ready yet.

    What if???

Why Trump should be worried about Justin Amash

Now this would muddy the waters...and then some.
Mostly for Mr. T and his co-horts.

My question is this...IF he did run Libertarian, would he be able to rein in its extremist policies and players that ruined it as a viable national party for the most part.
To be a Libertarian...you don't need to be a purist. (listen to that, Green party)

The Libertarian side of me would be interested.
Perhaps it could gain back the conservative agenda without the corruption and bile that the GOP has become. (AND no religious agenda as a bonus)

    We'll see...
We've been notorious for wild unstable politics for some years, so anything is possible. (although, that's in modern US terms...other nations take "wild" to another level )

Libertarianism works in a community of people who all want to do the right thing. It is an ideal form of government, but fails to protect people in reality.

Boeing acknowledges flaw in 737 MAX simulator software | The Japan Times

You end up with safety backup systems being options and there not being enough simulators for pilots to train on. 1 in Canada, 0 in the US is what I think the news said.

The problem with the #NeverTrump moderate Republican party is that they don't want to see the Democrats win either. They aren't going to be pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro-regulation, and pro-taxes just because their party has gotten taken over by big corporate donors who have an agenda from the 60's-70's that they want to see enacted. But the mainstream media is trying to convince the moderate Democratic candidates that these votes are 'gettable' and they should push compromise to get these few votes while pissing off the large left-wing base. And the Democrats are doing very little to persuade people to understand their positions and why they would word and how they would get implemented. Warren, Yang, and some others have detailed policies. I think Moulton has the best Climate Disruption plan though. It is a gamble, but creating fusion power plants would be the change we need to get rid of pollution in the energy sector.

Elizabeth Warren Gains Ground in 2020 Field, One Plan at a Time

    Very interesting
Y'know, that would be nice for a change...a candidate who actually is knowledgeable about most things...AND is not shy to talk about it in detail.
It gets tiresome to hear spin, symbolism and vague descriptions.

That's actually one of things I liked about Obama, not only was he articulate...but he seemed on top of the material and topic.
Details show they've actually thought about the issue and can give a solution.

    I don't want tap-dancing anymore.
I want some action and execution.

Of course, you're also not wanting to fall into the trap Obama did, not communicating and selling an idea or project.
Some good communications is needed for buy-in by the public (and get ahead of those with opposing agenda and spin.
He thought everyone would just get in line, thinking the idea good automatically. (the GOP jumped all over that with rhethoric and firebranding)

And BTW...the policy and agenda shouldn't be ALL uber-liberal.
There IS a balance. And a place for classic conservative ideas and big business isn't all evil and can be productive.

I know she needs to stand out now in the Primary and get to the General
But we need a rational thinker...one that plays all sides for the best direction for the nation and its citizens. (AND the world too, BTW)
