    Who us???
    We know nothing
    We didn’t do a thing
    Let’s be friends
    We’re friendly

    We don’t know him
He didn’t say anything to us
    He’s a crazy American

Ignore the propaganda, we’re just playing
Ignore the computer intelligencia, they’re just testing
Ignore the big guns near allies, we’re just protecting

    We’re innocent
    He’s criminal

    We want to do business
    Want some vodka??

    ========
    Pathetic...
He’d deserve it, if Hillary became Secretary of State again
    We know he hates her.
And she’ll be out for revenge.

A lot of the hacks are due to people using crappy passwords or by easily figuring out their security reset questions for their email account. I wouldn't be surprised if keyloggers were used or if there is a lis of passwords previously used from the past hacked leaked websites.

But it is surprising that this hasn't been fixed yet. And there isn't an easier and more secure option by now.

Actually they sell millions of lists on the Dark Web
That's why people need to start using passphrases.
Change them periodically - even just a character

I even switch out my card every year

Don't even get me what I have to do for work. Being cybersecurity is like the opening scene in Get Smart.

I was thinking you can have the best security software with numerous safeguards, updated frequently, but making sure the end users don't do anything stupid is impossible.

The number of educated and intelligent people who do not question communications because they appear to be official.........

And we haven't had the best people in top positions for a few years now.
The Impeached 45 has been putting people in important spots who have no experience and in some cases seem to want to wreak the department.
He has fucked us for years to come.

Russia hasn’t just hacked our computer systems. It’s hacked our minds.

I think the only thing we can do is wait for the new administration to take hold.
This will change the tone, the priority and the push.

Like a new healthy cat to replace the lazy cat to chase away all the rats. (follow the money, seal the hole...punch back)
Then with anew eye on the web apps and media...slowly whittle down the propaganda.
And the new sense of responsibility will make many turn away.

It hopefully will be a whole paradigm shift.

But the past 4 years has been the biggest payback lotto win for Putin he's ever bet on.
We need to tax the bejeezus out of him.

    How to Contain Putin’s Russia
Long article but very informative and fair.

There will be too much going on for Biden to do anything about Russia immediately.
But at least he can get the military/security/intelligence to beef up our Cybersecurity.
Which will help against ALL hackers, not just Russia.
    It's a win-win effort and focus.

Biden confronts Russia — and Republicans are listening

I can only hope this is a full turn and aggressive defense.
Funny how the "liberal dem" is out posturing the GOP on Russia.

He's especially needs to push back, if not informally lash out, at Russia for the hack attacks.
This IS a literal violation of US territory - computer-wise. (Oh, Russia is doing it to others, but the US needs to hold it own to start)

‘The perfect target’: Russia cultivated Trump as asset for 40 years – ex-KGB spy

    No shit
    This was VERY obvious.

And I don't know why they dragged this out...and in many cases minimized it or muted it.
We've got to stop aggrandizing the president. (ANY prez). Putting them on a pedestal.

They can be vulnerable as any person.
Any can be an asset. A dupe. A Manchurian candidate. A traitor.

We got VERY close to losing something...and god knows what we lost.
Most certainly our global rep, and how much intelligence.

Putin hit the jackpot with this guy. Paid off in droves.

I do wonder what Biden is going to do. Will he release the transcripts or tax returns if the Senate doesn't convict him? Or more likely there might just be a "leak" that can't be tied back to Biden probably.

I agree with a leak, but it won’t be intentional.
I think he’ll be intent on doing something with the information. So it will be given to the appropriate authorities, entities and intelligence bureaus.

Then it will leak as more people find out within and more is discovered, actions are taken to protect, cover gaps, etc. Those end up being the normal leakers, many can’t keep their mouths shut.

Biden is more about action than manipulation.
    He’s a straight-shooter.

But he won’t cover anything up either.
More about paying attention to the work.
Seems to be his MO from what I’ve seen.

I don’t think we’re going to to see transparency
But we’re not going to see conspiracy in this administration.

Trump will basically end up cooking his own goose by his actions and previous activities. Biden won’t do it...but there are many other states, countries and entities that are out for blood.

He won’t be able to make things murky anymore.
    They’ll have a clearer target.

To boost its own vaccine, Russia spread disinformation about Pfizer's

    But of course they did...

    Russia is a class act
    As much as T is.

Unfortunately, they have the intelligence and resources that T doesn’t

So that makes them the country to watch
    (Them and China)

A shame that both these countries that could do so much better, end up doing dick moves.

The US and other countries aren’t perfect
But it’s not like it’s equivalent either

Russia’s Sputnik V Vaccine Is 92% Effective Against Symptomatic Covid-19, Early Results Show, But There Are No Plans To Bring It To The U.S.

The mainstream media and the US government isn't really going to say good things about the Russian vaccine, especially since they rushed the vaccine out. And with hindsight (or common sense that Thanksgiving and Christmas were going to cause big spikes), pushing the vaccine out to those willing participants in the early Fall would have been a better plan. It would have had some risks, but hundreds of thousands of dead people in the past few months isn't good either.

It is just another thing that the investigative media and Congress should be looking into as to what went wrong. No Level C or P100 PPE for unknown airborne viruses, no quarantine procedures setup, no school plan to shift to outdoor classes, grocery stores/Hardware stores still were open while smaller stores had to close, and a bunch of policy mistakes. Although some shouldn't be looked at with too harsh a lens, since there were a lot of unknowns back then. And some policy changes were good and helped.

    A real good read.

The Science of Making Americans Hurt Their Own Country

The National Intelligence Council has released an unclassified report assessing, retrospectively, foreign threats to the 2020 election. It has a few twists and turns: The Iranian government attempted to run some kind of online influence campaign; the Chinese government considered doing the same but then dropped the idea. But most of the report is about Russia. Unlike in 2016, Russian intelligence operatives weren’t in the business of hacking and leaking this time around.
Instead they concentrated on planting what they would call kompromat. The NIC focuses in particular on the activity of Andriy Derkach, a Russian agent and Ukrainian citizen who used former President Donald Trump’s lawyer, Rudy Giuliani, to spread disinformation about Joe Biden and his family.
The report also mentions Konstantin Kilimnik, another Russian agent, who was playing the same game.
