NFL 2014 - Weekly Picks

Discussion in 'General Discussions' started by rogue49, Aug 3, 2014.

  1. Much to digest from the week 1 results. Are the Pats, Saints and Chiefs in decline? Are the Vikings, Titans, Texans and Bills for real? Only a handful of this week's games are obvious to me, at this point.

I'm still going back and forth myself.
    I almost find week 1 easier than week 2...the 1st is a crap shoot...but is the 2nd a trend??
You really don't see patterns until week 3

What the hell?? I can't get the list to show to using reply, or copy & paste.

Edit--I don't see the list in my open post box, but I see it in my posted reply. But then I don't see it when I edit my post. WTF?

Edit edit--Using "Show all content" isn't working either. WTF?

Edit edit edit--Taking out the quotes doesn't get the list to show. I'm getting pissed off.

All I'm seeing in the open post box is Week 2 in bold with underline, no list.

Another edit attempt--I can't get the list to copy into Word; is this a fucking PDF file?????

Sorry, it may because of the site's formatting that I got the list from...it worked with no issue last week.
Here is an alternative list for you. This should work, my apologies for any inconvenience.
Please let me know if it doesn't

    THU, SEP 11
    Pittsburgh at Baltimore 8:25 PM

    SUN, SEP 14
    Miami at Buffalo 1:00 PM
    Atlanta at Cincinnati 1:00 PM
New Orleans at Cleveland 1:00 PM
    Dallas at Tennessee 1:00 PM
New England at Minnesota 1:00 PM
Arizona at NY Giants 1:00 PM
    Jacksonville at Washington 1:00 PM
    Detroit at Carolina 1:00 PM
Seattle at San Diego 4:05 PM
St. Louis at Tampa Bay 4:05 PM
Kansas City at Denver 4:25 PM
NY Jets at Green Bay 4:25 PM
    Houston at Oakland 4:25 PM
Chicago at San Francisco 8:30 PM

    MON, SEP 15

    Philadelphia at Indianapolis 8:30 PM

PSA - Tip: for formatting issues, often just copy/paste into notepad first, then copy/paste that into the editor.
Between new capabilities of the websites, browsers and the board's own editor...it sometimes transfers the whole formatting and other features into the editor...the notepad trick wipes it of everything except text.
A handy trick in your toolbox for other C/P tasks. I use it all the time.

OK the list is now showing in my open post box, and I removed the quotes to add my picks.

Yikes  !! Week two includes quite a few 'could go either way' matches, namely which lousy team is going make the fewest mistakes and somehow manage to win.

Nah...I just think they'll use their home field more effectively...they seem to get their love from the fans.

Although, living in Baltimore/DC area...it's easier to root for them than the currently painful Redskins as local teams go.

No, just couldn't see them losing two in a row, and they were playing at home.

What do you call a former Houston Texans player who couldn't fit in under the Texans salary cap?
    A Baltimore Raven.

  15. Congrats, @Borla!
My futility here was only exceeded by my performance in our fantasy league.

No coin flipping this week. Where did I leave my Magic 8 Ball?

Well, third week's a charm...at least there's something to base it on...a trend.
Gotta do better than the last two...come on, I've done better, I know I have.
Friggin' cap...wait, that doesn't affect ME. damn.

I will console myself with the fact that there were at least three upset wins in week two; the fact that I don't know shit about football has nothing to do with it :p.
