It's 35* and freezing rain. Where I'm at now will transition to sleet and snow by later today.

Not really great weather. But we had 70s a few days ago, which is awesome for Feb.

In general, I love the weather in CO. 300+ sunny days a year combined with low humidity (nothing I'm allergic to grows here).

That said, it's been weird lately. Massive snowfall followed by warm weather. I finally found my sidewalk last weekend and now it's getting buried again.

Lots of sunshine over here today, with a few fluffy clouds and a breeze. Pretty much perfect.

Right now, it's 41* and leftover dampness from yesterday is making it yucky out. I've had to work through the last few days of beautiful 60s and 70s with sunshine.

    Right now...it's perfect, beautiful
    Sunny...a few puffy clouds...65 degrees.

Normally February is miserable and sucking the heat out of you.

Had upper 70s earlier in the week. I went out and absorbed all the vitamin D that I could sitting in the sun. Even did a little yardwork. Then yesterday started out with drizzle, near freezing, then a thunderstorm and thunder sleet. Kind of a blizzard today, 30-40mph wind out of the north, so the snow is moving mostly horizontally, but it has to come down somewhere. Looks like @Borla is getting today what we got yesterday in Nebraska.

Yeah, when I posted that this AM I was near Iowa City on my travels. Last night on the IC news there was a fair amount of coverage on the snow starting to hit in NE, SD, and eastern IA that is now coming through there. But I beat most of it home.

I'm at a lower altitude than Stan. So for me it was light snow overnight, but it had started yesterday. As soon as sun started to set, icy patches popped up all over. Saw two separate accidents on secondary roads over less than ten miles. Flurried all day today, clearing up now.

Except for the humidity. I just turned our AC down to 72 more to suck some of the moisture out of the air than because the house needs to be 72.

On our side of Houston this "winter" we've had exactly one night that actually dipped below freezing.

It's bright and temperate 60's F during the day but cold nights in the high 30's the last few days. Arizona has the best February's I've ever lived in. I thought Southern California was beautiful in the winter but here we have more sunny days.
I feel guilty that my family has to slog through Midwest winters. The warm ups in February are cruel and unusual because it is not remotely springtime there yet. And when it does truly arrive, Midwest spring only lasts a very short while. Phoenix doesn't have the pretty, allergy-provoking lushness that I left behind but I'm cool with the trade off.

Our neighborhood had just enough cold to kill off some of the more fragile plants like palm trees, citrus, avocado, and oleanders. It's fascinating watching everything green up early, though I do wonder if we're going to have another hard frost and what that might mean for the plants that have rebounded. My new peach tree is already blooming.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

Lindy's weather made it here last night.
We went from 60F yesterday morning, to afternoon thunderstorms with torrential rain that then turned over to thundersnow.
Everything is frozen and glazed with snow this morning. Beautiful but treacherous.

That sounds about normal to me because Houston is so sprawling, and close to the Gulf Coast. On the south side (keep in mind we're only about eight miles from the center of downtown, not on the extreme southern city limits) we're 'protected' from most of the frosts that affect the north side. The temperature differences don't need to be, and usually aren't, extreme, just a couple of degrees on either side of 32F makes a big difference with plant care.

I live about 40 minutes from the coast currently. It's been 65 - 78 here and next week they are calling for warmer. It's too soon.

About three weeks ago the crickets came out to feed, & recently so have the lizards. If they're right about our winter being over, this has been one of the very mildest and warmest winters in recent history. One of the weather forecasters said we set a new record for days over 80F this winter.
