Thanks for giving me a great idea!

I could start wearing deck/boat shoes with black dress socks (going up nearly to my knees, of course), pastel colored shorts, and seriously fugly Hawaiian shirts.

My wife would love it! [insert head vigorously shaking NFW! emoticon]

Shoes. I wear shoes. On both feet.
I have a bunch of pairs because I don't throw anything away. My old sneakers for dirty stuff like yard work and grinding metal. New ones for working out and wearing out and about. I have my suede pumas for when I don't want to wear running shoes. I have boat shoes (sans socks). Black and brown dress shoes. These are not dressy though, more utilitarian for comfort. I also have a pair of oxblood loafers with the nice clicky leather sole. I have old dress shoes with squared off toes and such that are floating around. I have a pair of all leather Merrell hiking boots that are almost 20 years old and have been to from the rim of the Grand Canyon to the river and back in a day. I also have a pair of tacticool boots I bought for the patrol. A couple pair of flip flops. And a pair of Burton Rulers for snowboarding.

You're all making me feel weird about my lack of shoes. I have a black dress pair, a daily wear pair, and a pair of winter boots. I have yet to find a need in my life for more than that.

Well you can't wear black shoes and blue dress pants for work?! You would look like a prole. My brown and oxblood shoes are over ten years old. My boots are about 20. So I do hold on to stuff, like I said. Even my black work shoes at the bank are almost 6.

I've worn socks three or four times this winter. My shoes are all slip-ons, walking shoes and clogs alike.
I've worn tights with a dress and boots a few times but it's warming up now, going into sandal weather.
My feet can't breathe with socks and shoes. I do spend way more time on pedicuring myself than at any other time in my life though. Was way easier to hide my feet.

This thread has made me realize that I am now an "omg, shoes" kinda girl.
Usually I'm pretty choosy and frugal (sales only and coupon codes) but moving out here has been expensive (as was weight loss). Upside is that I just pulled two nice (1 brand new) pairs from the closet for Goodwill donation as I absolutely don't wear them.
