Humor: do you have it?

I like biting humor directed at politicians who deserve it, which can be tricky. I'm bipartisan, an idiot is an idiot no matter which party flag they wave, but some folks can't handle having "their" people targeted. And some people don't think making fun of dead politicians is fair. If people put themselves in the public eye, and are controversial, they're not protected by death.

I refer to Reagan as Raygun (I was one of the people negatively impacted by his policies, the trickle down that reached me smelled like urine), but you will never hear me make fun of his Alzheimer's. Our governor here is Greg Abbott, who uses a wheelchair, which I would never make fun of. Interestingly he and/or his people used it in his campaign, the ads stressing a strong GA never showed his wc, the ones showing an empathetic--my ass--GA did show him in it.

Do not tell me: Fat jokes, racists jokes, sexist jokes*, small dick jokes, short jokes, and the like.

* Sexists jokes can be very tricky. There are some observations that are true and funny (IMHO there are differences between how men & women think about certain things and go about doing certain things). A young single guy making a marriage joke might get some How would you know? looks from guys my age; I might get some belly laughs if I told the same joke.

Humor is sometimes very much insider. An IT person can make a screw-up joke, say something about accidently taking down a network, than outsider had better not. Same for musicians, mechanics, teachers, etc. And relationship humor..................

I'm a smartass, whether it's funny or not is in the eyes of the beholder.
