We've been binge watching The Fall on Netflix the past few days cause most of our regular series (The Americans, Vikings, Black Sails, The 100) have finished for the season and our summer series (The Strain, The Last Ship, Falling Skies) haven't started up yet. The Fall is excellent staring Gillian Anderson as a British police officer on the hunt for a serial killer in Belfast. We've also been watching iZombie which is quirky and dark in the vein of the late lamented Dead Like Me. Hopefully this one stays around longer.

On Tuesday, National Geographic channel is premiering its first scripted show, Genius, a 10 part series "based on the Walter Isaacson book Einstein: His Life and Universe and executive produced by Ron Howard and Brian Grazer, with Howard also directing the first episode. The all-star cast includes Geoffrey Rush as Professor Einstein, Johnny Flynn as Albert in his youth and Emily Watson as the scientist’s second wife — and first cousin — Elsa Einstein. Over 10 episodes, the series takes Einstein’s story beyond the halls of academia to explore his struggles to be a good husband and father, and a man of principle during a period of global unrest. His daringly creative mind often landed him in trouble with his loved ones and peers, but also helped him to usher in groundbreaking discoveries that reshaped modern science."

Hope you enjoyed Killjoys as much as we did, @redravin. American Gods just started. I was hooked in about 8 minutes, and haven't read anything.

I'm about 154 pages into the book American Gods. So far I'm thinking this novel would work better on screen than it does on paper. ***Hey, Chris, the author, Neil Gaiman, writes graphic novels.***

    I enjoy Killjoys a lot.
Some decent world and character building that has enough of the usual tropes to be fun but makes them different enough to be interesting.

And hell to the yeah on American Gods.
Best new TV show to come along in ages.

I am currently catching up on season 2 of iZombie on Netflix, after slow-binging my way through season 1 and watching season 3 as it airs on The CW. Love this show for it's witty-one liners and sharp casting. The balance of light and dark is just perfect. Despite the title, iZombie is a funny, feel-pretty-good show.

I love Killjoys too. The cast shines. It is funny, dark and irreverent. Looking forward to the new third season debut in June on Syfy.

Having not yet read American Gods, I really had no idea what to expect. It opens big and Spartacus-like (it is a Starz product, after all) but quickly finds it own groove, a mix of dark humor, fantasy and mythology.

Mystery Science Theater 3000 on Netflix is incredibly entertaining.

Big, Little Lies on HBO was way better than I anticipated. Nicole Kidman's work is equal to her best. The series is gorgeously shot and has a great soundtrack. The child actors are very good and the adults do pretty well, too.

Anyone watch The Leftovers on HBO? I keep hearing great things about season 3 which is currently airing. Not sure if I can handle its heavy-duty thematic elements right now but I am curious.

Was 3rd season the last? I've not watched it yet, but finally kids are out of school and I will lock myself in the bedroom and paint to Netflix.

Eep. Kind of sad about that but given the way it began i guess it had to come full circle.

Santa Clarita Diet was okay. I wanted to pin down Drew and fix her eyebrows. OITNB is killing me with the overkill on the feminism this season.

I'm binging Parks and Rec at the moment. I ran out of entertainment.

I'm at least a season behind on just about everything right now. What was wrong with Drew's eyebrows? :) What genres do you usually prefer @Japchae ?

Her eyebrows were so huge and bushy. I neeeeeeeeded to pluck them. I watch just about everything. I've been through about 20 series in the past few years when I was finishing up grad school. Depends on my mood. I just get bored with the political dramas and teen shows, now.

Too funny about her eyebrows! Mine are nearly nonexistant and i even dye the little bastards darker. lol. Probably a bit on the gloomy side but have you tried The Killing, Bloodline, or Black Mirror? Some seasons of American Horror Story are good, some are wretched.
