2017 MLB Season

Baseball is back, y'all!

The season doesn't OFFICIALLY start until the first pitch in Cincinnati ( ), but I got together with some friends tonight to catch the end of the Giants/Dbacks game, and the entirety of the Cards/Cubbie game.

I don't have phenomenally high hopes for my Reds this year (and man, I'm gonna miss Phillips and Bruce), but hopefully we won't finish in the basement again.

Here's to a fantastic baseball season!



Edited to add: If you happen to be a T-Mobile customer, you can get a free mlb.tv prime subscription again this year...just dl the T-Mobile Tuesdays app. Downside is you have to wait until this Tuesday (the 4th), but still...free!

I've heard some good things about the Astros, even though I don't tend to follow AL teams as closely.

 

AL? When did that move take place?

/joke. I wore my one & only Astros shirt to San Antonio a few years back. A friend asked if I was a big fan. "I could stand to lose some weight, but no, I don't really follow the Astros." He pointed out my shirt mentioned them being a NL team. I didn't tell him the shirt was from a thrift store.

 

Looking forward to a nice loooong season. Saw a bit of the Jays in Florida grapefruit league action. Look out Boston!

 

Reds lost the series today to the Brewers, but are somehow still in first place in the division. I'll take it. Orioles up next!


In related news, I've found that I really like watching other games this year where I can see former Reds (even if it makes me a little sad.) I've caught Frazier & the White Sox, Phillips & the Braves, Cueto & the Giants, and Bruce & the Mets this week.

Glad to see the Astros doing so well, but have little hope of it lasting all season.

I haven't watched (or listened) nearly as much this year. I do manage to catch a few innings at work sometimes, but that's about it

ha! I just saw this, sorry! The Reds have...a weird thing with pigeons. Something similar happened last year with a pigeon hanging out and refusing to leave (minus the weird interview, though) and the subreddit immediately became obsessed with "Our Lord Pigeon." It's a thing.


Oh, and the comment about liking cowboys that seemed totally random? Reference to Jeff Brantley, former pitcher and current broadcaster for the Reds. His nickname is Cowboy.

We didn't get the sweep with Atlanta, but took the series, at least. It's still so weird to see Brandon Phillips in a Braves uniform.

For some reason I'm seeing a lot of Astros' gear around Houston (insert laughing emoticon).

Seriously, it's great to see the Astros in the WS. And the fact that they eliminated the new york yankees to get there is icing on the cake.
