People are being taken from their wheelchairs and mobility devices today for peaceful protest. This is a day of tears. Angry. Angry tears.

One of the events that changed how people looked at the world was Monday, March 12, 1990 when 63 people dumped their wheel chairs and dragged their bodies up the stone steps of the capitol building.
They were demanding the passage of the ADA and people got the message.
This may be just like that moment.
Or maybe I'm just hoping for too much.

There is a line between "protesting" and civil disobedience, sometimes these things get "out of hand" .... on both sides.

Look I understand you're from latin america and used to warm weather. Getting up after we go to sleep, turning off the AC, and opening the windows so it's over 80F in the room at night isn't cool. If you're that fucking cold at 73F I'll give you several spare blankets and my little heater and you can have your own private sweatlodge to nap in.

Also guys this isn't an apartment. It's a single room with three people sleeping in it. My bed is literally touching the doorframe and less than five feet from the table you all are having a party around at 1:30 in the morning, and I need to be up for work in less than 7 hours. And I don't just wait tables, I'm a research assistant. I need to be able to actually think during the day. I can't take a shower let alone go to bed when there's 10 random extra people including some fifty year old dude that you're giving clothes you found on the goddamn street to in the room.

And speaking of your habit of bringing shit in off the street... "hot washing" doesn't get rid of bedbugs or fleas and I've been getting bites on my arms and legs ever since moving in. At this point all my clothes are probably infested. Thanks for that.

P.s. if you're going to work on the beach until 3am shake off the sand outside, not in the middle of our <18x18 room. Also you don't need to slam the cabinets, fridge, and bathroom door when you get up at the crack of bullshit in the morning.

    [edit]

Oh and to the regular office staff who made a cowardly anonymous "complaint" that the interns were too loud or having inappropriate conversations... every day you all are so loud we can't hear the music blasting from our own headphones over you guys.

And FYI I speak your language. I know that you're not just having a conversation, you're saying incredibly crude sexual profanities.

Dammit, I keep having to pay a price for my good food.
    And it's not the fee.

Last night, before I was going to go to a concert...I grabbed some grub...because they don't really serve food in there. (well, they say they do...but you don't want it...or the wait...or to miss the music)
And the good chicken sandwich decided to pour it's juices right onto my shirt. (great food, just excessive juices)
Grease doesn't wash out...and it was just high enough to be above the vest I had on...and right smack dab in the center under my head and all. (no place to get a replacement...and no, water and cloth did not clean it out)
Fortunately, it was dark...but still, not something you'd want cuties noticing.

And today, go out for a nice sunny day...decide to put on a bright summer outfit.
But when I decide to satisfy a craving I had...get a nice big brunch burger at my favorite burger joint.
When I first bite down...the egg yolk shoots out.
Right down to my white jeans...near my crotch.
Looked like I had pissed myself. (and no, water and cloth would not get it out)

So I went home right after finishing that good burger.

Someone is laughing their head off "up there"
    Thanks.

Gotta keep a sense of humor about it...but come on.

Yes, but you have to have it on you...
I don't know how you go to rock concerts,
But dish detergent isn't one of the things I go with in accessories ;)

Guys go everywhere with just the "stuff" in their pockets, not telling what a woman has in that "handbag" she lugs along...
Band-aids, needles and thread, EPI pens, old photographs, receipts for everything from years ago, etc

Hehe true enough. Mine are tiny crossbody style as handbags would fall off in the wheelchair it is full of pencils (4h, red, blue), erasers, lipgloss, and perfume. Also hair elastics and a safety pin just in case.

The only bad spot in my birthday was that I slightly sprained my right ankle. It's very mild but still not fun to walk on.

    Yep, all better.

Now I'm just recovering from postdrome, which is the WORST and not recommended.

Oh hell yeah it is! How long do your migraines last? Are they chronic? I've an ocular one on the way as have seen flashes and am light sensitive but the pain s not here yet.
Glad your ankle is healing up!
