Careful with that, I fought with it for years not wanting to admit that it was a serious problem and finally had to have both arms operated on after developing serious nerve damage and trigger finger in both hands.
Take good care of your hands, life sucks when they don't work right.

It officially hit me today that I only have six weeks until I'm a bridesmaid, and I'm way behind where I want to be when it comes to body composition. Shit.

I sort of panicked, and started looking into things like Tone It Up and Beach Body and Nutrisystem. I have a *little bit* of extra spending money right now, but the thought of spending $150+ makes me feel ill.

I have to remind myself that I managed to lose close to 70 pounds without paying any money beyond a gym membership. I just need to actually get my ass in gear and stop slacking the fuck off.

No, I left mine after we moved, because I knew I wouldn't make the 20 minute drive everyday. I'll have one by monday, though, for sure. And thank you. :)

We have a YMCA membership had to get it today as membership is closed tomorrow! They have a good weight machine room, lots of cardio options for the whole family, and even hand-cycles! I'm going to have a strong back by summer's end! Tomorrow we get to actually visit the gym and start finding our place there. Just about everything is accessible and the swimming pools look great! This was the best birthday present ever!

First workout in more than a week after the trip...
Very spontaneous...didn't plan on it...happened to be having dinner near a certain gym...when my Sunday night game canceled.
So, since I didn't have to rest up or not worry about cramps and sores...went in jeans and a t-shirt.
Worked the punching bag a bit...not too much, I didn't have my gloves but I wanted to feel the leather (plus it doesn't do to have scars on your knuckles on a first date...later in the week)
    Just some standard stuff.
Stretched out on some...lifted heavy on others...mixed it up...especially since it's not my usual gym.

But question...does 4 masturbation sessions count as cardio for the day?? :D
Cause I didn't get that in at the gym...not suited up for it.

Funny...I notice my style and body type tends to be a combination of weight-lifting and body building.
I'm not bulky like the weightlifters, but I'm not trim and slim like the body builders.
I do heavy, but I don't go for it on metal.
But I don't have the obsession the body builders have to get 'cut'.
    And I take my time.
Plus I protect myself, since I'm older.

    6.2, 260 lbs, maybe 20% BF
    Goal, 240 and 15%
But my body is fighting it getting down there.
And I certainly don't want to diet, diet.
It's not my style...and I really don't agree with it.

But I do have to get down...heart doesn't care what you look like, still pumping against 260
And it does have impact on the joints after a while
An indicator is when you "try" to do a pull up on the bar like the young body builder before you did...and you start bending the damn metal without even going up an inch. (gravity works)

    Time to rethink my volume.

Paddled 15 miles Saturday in a fiberglass canoe with minimal current. I got more sore from sitting in the car in the 3 hour drive home. I can almost do an unassisted push up, I've owned our abmat with 50 - 100 daily, I can do a front squat with a bar, and I did 12"box jumps last week for a full minute. I actually feel accomplished. I adore my body with traps and delts, so it's really reinforcing. I'm still fighting a tweaked out knee and hamstring but we're coexisting now, instead of torturing each other. I still don't know how to get 150g of protein a day, but I'm sure trying!

I have sat on my 42 year old ass this week, well not precisely as lower spine was out so kind of half seated on one hip. Tomorrow we get to take the "birthday" trip to the gym lol. Making a proper workout plan today, finding inspirational images, and tomorrow I'm going to take those -to me painful- "before" shots. Had a good hard look at me today and I should aim for putting on muscle, losing at least 10 (maybe 15) lbs. of fat, and toning up my core body.

I fucking danced. It feels amazing and horrible but that is just the body. Can't really use the left leg for much but hey my right stayed strong, my hips still know how to belly dance as do my ribs so that is fucking something. :) I mean I can only dance in a circle but I'll fucking take it. Progress.

Does one really need more than a circle to dance in?

I apologize for so many posts in this thread in one day. Does anyone have any good weight training websites or apps for beginners they would recommend?

My weights are abysmally low but I lifted 'em. lol. Found out there are no muscles under my boobs at all or else chest presses would not be as alarming as they were! Going to ache from today's workout tomorrow- okay have started too- yay! Swimming after, love having a way to work out on more than sticks or wheels!

Even though I lift fairly heavy weights regularly, I generally don't get calluses. Oily skin keeps my skin soft. But doing deadlifts the past few weeks has changed that. Rinsing my face in the sink before bed and I felt like I was cutting the bridge of my nose. Oh well. Need some lifting straps.

    Benched 320 for 10 followed by 345 for 6. That's a 6 rep record for me.

Now if I could just calm down long enough to take care of the carpal tunnel I'm experiencing. (hard headed people, geez) I'm pretty sure it's actually my elbow causing most of the symptoms, but still.

I have to lift with straps, as my grip is horrible with my beginning stages of arthritis. Even a single plate dead can cramp my fingers so badly I can barely change the weights. I'm not going to a competition anytime soon, so I don't care about grip strength.

    *****

Gym owner put me on a 21 day diet and exercise program. Lots and lots of cardio. Just a few more weeks before I put the leather underwear on and march in front of thousands of people.

Neck is still out, and one bone in lower spine, but I'm going to the gym anyway. Swimming after so hopefully at least some of the bones will slide back in place.
