So now you are suggesting the "boycott" of the election by the moderate left was a result of violence by the far left?

And not far more likely factors as disaffection with Hillary, her many personal shortcomings and her abysmally run campaign or even the "Russian" factor.

I wasn't tying the boycott to far-left violence. I was tying it to the completely self-assured, belligerently self-righteous and downright cocky attitude consistently displayed by left-wing proponents. Brand any opposition or critique as "The Other" in order to dismiss their concerns or input entirely, while pursuing their ideological values in the most narrow-minded ways possible. It's all about attitude, and the bad taste in everyone's mouth it leaves behind. A large part of the reason why Hillary's campaign was so badly run is the same kind of cockiness, I feel.

Here is the story of the right wing "3 percenter" who attempted to bomb a bank in OKC earlier this month, in the spirit of Timothy McVeigh.

Still quite a reach IMO, given most objective analyses of the election.

Then we beg to differ. As I said, it was simply my personal impression of the event - and I still feel that way based on what I've directly witnessed and the conversations I've had.

The grass roots Indivisible Movement with nearly 6,000 local groups across the country is a significant component of a new liberal movement against not only Trump's agenda but against the rise of right wing extremism that has become prevalent at every level of government in the US

    The Indivisible Project

As part of that grass roots movement, we're seeing thousands of mostly young liberals signing up to run for office for the first time because of the perceived threat to basic rights and values is so great.

We're seeing hundreds of scientists signing up to run for office as a result of the anti-science backlash from Trump and the far right.

The challenge is to channel these expanded voices on the left.

If I were helping organize the counterprotests, I would revert to my previous training with the state patrol. We were taught to line up. Block access. If we wanted to move people back our batons would be at waist level. Every 20-30 seconds we would take one step forward. Use our batons to push people back that one step. And all shout in unison "move back." And gradually take territory. Same technique that was used to clear out the occupy wall street movement out of the public park after 6 months and days of warnings. No violence. Just needed to get that trash (literal rubbish) not people and restore the park to public access. The other technique was a group of troopers to target the individual firebrands and violence instigators. Observers would identify those people. Then when they were ready to act, a team of five or six guys would move through the line, grab that person, and drag them back across the line where they could be dealt with.

Do you have that data yet to support this claim?

As opposed to the data in the GAO report, Countering Violent Extremism, with data on domestic terrorism by right wing extremist groups vs left wing extremist groups since 2002 ( 106 people killed by far right violent extremists in 62 separate incidents; 0 by far left extremists)

Or the FBI/DHS intel bulletin, White Supremacist Extremism Poses Persistent Threat of Lethal Violence, with numerous examples from 2016.

    added:

If those are not enough , how about the "3 percenter" who attempted a bombing in OKC:
'Out for blood': Man arrested in plan to bomb Oklahoma bank

The plot earlier this year by a Dylan Roof neo-nazi copycat to kills Blacks and Jews in South Carolina:
FBI: South Carolina man planned attack 'in the spirit of Dylann Roof'

The plot last year by three white nationalists milita types to blow up a mosque in Kansas:
Members of militia group charged with plotting to bomb Kansas apartment complex and mosque day after presidential election

The Trump supporter in Kansas who shot two Indian nationals while screaming "go back to your own country" thinking they were Muslims.
Kansas man charged with killing Indian in possible hate crime

Again, referencing my previous job, I wasn't worried about leftists. It was the right wing anti government types that were the real concern. At least prior to when I got out 2 years ago. When I was in field training I stopped a vehicle with no plates. Turns out he was a sovereign citizen. No registration, no insurance, no drivers license. Claims he is not driving, he is traveling. As I'm towing his car he says the penalty for taking his property is 1 million dollars. I wanted to tell him that I'll write him a fiat money check for that, good luck cashing it. That if he were a true sovereign citizen then he should ask for ten head of cattle or five ounces of gold or something.
It took about two years for him to go to trial. Once he walked into court, looked at the judge and said "I don't recognize this court," and walked out. The deputies had to chase him down and arrest him. He finally pled down to obstruction of government activities, which is probably like a badge of honor for his kind. A bit later, his roommate in Fruita was at home when the police came knocking for some reason. I think they were looking for my guy. Roommate came out with a handgun and started arguing with the police. Eventually he raised his handgun to point at them and he was shot dead. We get a lot of anti government types out west.

I recall the Las Vegas anti-government couple who went on a killing spree in Vegas, ambushing two cops.

2014 Las Vegas shootings - Wikipedia

"The 2014 Las Vegas shootings occurred on June 8, 2014 in northeastern Las Vegas, Nevada, when a married couple, Jerad and Amanda Miller, committed a shooting spree in which five people died, including themselves. The couple, who espoused extreme anti-government views, first killed two Las Vegas police officers at a restaurant before fleeing into a Walmart, where they killed an intervening armed civilian. The couple died after engaging responding officers in a shootout; police shot and killed Jerad, while Amanda committed suicide after being wounded."

I will read about the things that you mention, but I'm not sure that you read popeyes post about shooting someone that he disagrees with. Maybe you should go back and read the post that I was referencing. I did not mean to insult anyone that did not insult me. Do not threaten people with a gun unless they threaten you. Just because you don't agree with what they are saying is not an automatic death sentence. I carry a gun every day but I pray that that I will never have to use it. Popeye's post indicated that he would shoot anyone that disagreed with him. I didn't insult anyone, just like a good referee, I called it like I saw it. A criminal is a criminal. There is no excuse for it!!!

I read that article and then looked at some of their other articles. I wouldn't put too much stock into their influence. I'm willing to bet that their readership is small and not influential. It felt like it was written by a college sophomore who thinks they have read a book and now hold the secret keys to the universe. Same thing with libertarians, vegans, young Republicans, hippies, potheads, lesbian womyn researching herstory, bitcoiners, conspiracy theorists, and sovereign citizens. A little knowledge can be dangerous. Mostly to themselves. Reality eventually deals some harsh blows.

My last post to this thread. Thank you @redravin for understanding my post. So delicate a subject, can easily be convoluted.
My family from Oklahoma, Arkansas, Texas, and Missouri for as many generations as we all can remember have served in some branch of the military.
I was born over seas on Clarke AFB, and as so many families that serve we have lived a year or few in many places.
I learned to enjoy friendships based on whom thoughs friends were. Not based on religion, colour, or teachings. I ran and played with Muslim, catholic, jewish..you name it. Black, brown, asian and so many more. We found acceptance even when we barely spoke the same language. There is no room in my heart for prejudices.
When it raises its ugly head in life I scoff. However I will take up arms, if neccessary against any power that is willing to kill just due to prejudices.
Not because race or religion. The Neo Nazis are just plain evil. Hatred. And I will protect my family, neighbors, co- workers and even folks I don't know.
Because we all have families and love living in our country of choice.

    Not really surprised.

Certainly not surprising ever since the German Army (Bundeswehr) officer planning a false flag terror attack masquerading as Syrian refugees was found out.

A kill list of political leaders and opponents of the far right does up the ante quite a bit, however.

I dont condone violence as I have stated, including "assaulting a fascist," but there have been at least 10 abortion providers/patients/bystanders murdered and many more wounded by anti-abortion violence in the last 20+ years as opposed to "fascist" victims of what in most cases has been misdemeanor assault?

    No comparison, IMHO.
