Sunset is very close here. Whatever the holiday means to you, your family, & your friends, I hope that it is joyful & meaningful.

Yes, I had to Google those expressions.

It still resonates with me, even though I'm not as active since my divorce.
There's something soothing about lighting the Menorah :)

We have this year around in the Complaining and Bitching thread
During this holiday it's renamed into the "Kvetching" thread. ;)

We played dreidel the other day. Does that count?

Tonight we lit our advent candles (Catholic tradition) at dinner time, and it reminded me that I wanted to raise my children with a broader perspective on holiday traditions. I think I need to step up this year.

    Happy Hanukkah!

I like doughnuts as a great entry point for kids in explaining Hanukkah. Real, fried doughnuts. One of the families I worked for was Jewish, and that is what they did. They also introduced me to latkes.

To me, that's the best part of Hanukkah: the food! But that's what I love about most holidays.
