    Flood waters starting to recede... only about 400 miles of closed roads now.

    Also, getting some help from our neighbors to the East. Thousands of grass or range fed cattle with nothing to eat, since the forage is all covered with water or mud.

    After a few kind of dreary days... drizzle, mist, fog, not much actual rain, but it always looked like it might start anytime.

    I got up early this morning. Not something I do very often. I'm not a morning person. I'm more likely to stay up until 2 0r 3am. But I had some things I needed to get done before heading up to the Lied Lodge, and I got to see the sunrise from the dining room window.

    I don't see sunrises very often. Especially this time of year when the sun rises so darn early.

    Weirdly we had the warmest March on record so everyone expected an early spring.
    Most of the snow melted, plants started to bud, people took off their snow tires.
    Then it started snowing again and got cold.
    Spring stopped in its tracks all April.
    Yesterday felt more like October, with full snow on the mountains, 30F and 30 MPH winds.

    Anyone who says there is no climate change can suck my dick.

    Had a tornado warning
    Unplugged everything
    Got a huge blast of storms
    Invited 2 young men inside to protect them
    It was all over in 5 minutes
    Now looking at the news
    To confirm what we experienced

    I’m fine...it’s over very quick.
    It’s sunny out now
    But I’m still hearing lots of sirens here and there
    Which means lots of situations

    Now warning friends that may be in the line on the south side
    It’s a north front heading east with a trailing south slant.

    Thunderstorms and rain all day today. Had planned on going to Big 10 Baseball Tourney in Omaha, but the Nebraska-Iowa game, scheduled for 9 tonight was postponed because of the weather and a lightning strike fairly close to the ball park.
