Looking for recommendations for security cameras for the house long story I will explain later. Not trying to spend an arm and a leg but I want the kind that I can access through my phone and if there is a way so whatever footage is on it you can play it back for the previous 12 hours or 24 hours or whatever. Do you have any recommendations do you have cameras at your house if so what are the pros and cons.

    I'll list the cons first

If you can see it on your phone, so can someone else anywhere else in the world.
If you get a cloud-based system, you'll pay for it forever, and also that means you're even more exposed to someone elsewhere in the world who can see your footage.

What is the goal if having your home visible from afar?

first of all let me say that the house we live in was her moms house. nice quiet neighborhood.

the house next to me is a rental house and it had the same nice black lady living in it for many years. she moved last year. they had some workers come in and "fix it up".
about 3 weeks after they started someone broke into my house. they busted out a window in the basement on the back side of the house. stole alot of things. i know it was the workers
but i cant prove it. this was about a year ago. since then their have been 3 renters come and go. the new people use my and my neighbors trash can on trash day. pisses me off. sometimes
when i cant sleep or get up with the dog at like 1,2,or 3 am ive seen one of the people who live their just kinda standing in the street or walking up and down the street. On monday i went to leave
to come to work and realized that someone has gone through my car and my wifes car. took quite abit of stuff. first of all i feel like ass like i cant protect my fucking family. that is a horrible feeling.
we have noticed small things that just seem out of place and odd that have never happened before. Im just over it and done with it. never had these problems or issues until the last year. that is why i want them. or that is the goal. and of course the cops are no help but their is no proof so i do understand

So then you need a camera system. You don't need to view it live. You need proof someone is trespassing or stealing from your house.

Personally, I wouldn't get a wireless one. Radio signals can be interfered with thus defeating the cameras and recordings. Wired is the way to go, 1080p 4-8 camera system.

When installing, put the DVR somewhere not the first place that you think of. Why? Because if the thief sees cameras, that's one of the targets to also steal. IF they find the DVR, no evidence to the theft. So put it some where that you'd not think it should go like the food pantry or linen closet.

1080P minimum resolution, 4K if you want because you can zoom into and see more features, but you'll have less recording time.

Yes, that makes sense. I'm guessing you want the camera system to feel solid and well-made, not flimsy.

That is correct I want something that's 30 that the weather is not going to affect I know that that depends on where I put it but you know what I mean. I want something to wear if I want to log on to my phone and see what's going on I can and I want something that has storage space so I can go back and review things if I need to within a certain period Of time. The ones that I look at on Amazon and other places I get kind of confused about what they will and what they want do you know me some things I'm taking like a logically good with and some things I am not.

With Covid-19 negatively impacting businesses, you might be able to get a customized system for a lower than usual price. Chances are some local companies are needing the business.
