Me too. I got to meet her one summer afternoon at MTV Spring Break 1997. I was the typer, she was the speaker/guest at an American Online Chat session that I ran as proxy for her. It was all good until I tripped over the phone cord to give my keys to a friend who insisted he needed the pack of cigarettes in the glovebox of my rental.

Amend the Constitution to Prevent Another Trump

    1. The Dems need to stop playing nice, play hardball
    2. More people need to vote

Everytime the Dems forget to get out the vote, they lose.
(Do this for EVERY election...the GOP votes consistently, so the Dems need to also)

You can't be polite or give benefit of the doubt to bullies.
This was a lesson Obama never learned.

    You lead, play hard.
As Mr. T has shown, do as you will.
Until there are new amendments to restrict the prez
And everything is codified, the prez can get away with audacity

It might be an incentive for the GOP to agree.
    Getting beaten with a stick.

    I say limit pardons.

The sitting president can not issue any pardons or commute any sentences within 160 days of the presidential election. Temporary stays of execution are the exception.

A lame duck president can not give any pardons. The exception being
    temporary stays of execution.

Any pardons related to political activity must be approved by a 75% majority in both the House of Representatives and the Senate.

    Those are just for starters.

Everyone is talking more about his new hair color
Not about his antics and actions
So that may be a good sign

    Great joke ;)

Barrack Obama was on CBS Sunday Morning earlier this morning.

    The contrast between Obama
    (educated, intelligent, articulate, eloquent, well-mannered)
    and Trump
(education questionable, dim, limited vocabulary, crude, bullying)
    was clearer than ever.

I have always felt that a large part of Trump's base are
whites who can not deal with a black man being educated, intelligent, articulate, eloquent, and well-mannered. Basically everything those whites are not, and will never be. It's bad enough that those whites are made to feel inferior, but for those feelings to be caused by a black man is unacceptable (their POV).

The sad part is we have made so little progress since say 1960. Yes, we have legislation that has helped, but the divide between people willing to move forward, and those living in ignorance and fear is still there.

Trump has created, or more accurately greatly improved upon, the template to exploit ignorance and fear.

BTW/FWIW I'm not speaking strictly hypothetically. I know people, too many people, some of whom are blood relatives, who love what white Trump represents because they're scared of what black Obama represents.

Health officials sound alarm over impact of Trump’s transition blockade

    You don't get it.
    He just doesn't care.
It doesn't matter to him how many die, are harmed or impacted.

    His ego.
That's all that matters in his mind.
    What HE wants.

Unfortunately, there are many that support this.
    Sating their own ego.
And it doesn't compute to them how many die, are harmed or impacted.
They shrug their shoulders and say, "Such is life"

I wouldn't even be surprised if he tries to make things worse so Biden has a harder time fixing things.

Yes. He's doing that spitefully as a by-product of not wanting to deal with the results he's found himself in.

Get him to stop at Chapter 7
    Liquidate his assets.
    It’s a shorter read
    But happier ending.

Couldn’t happen to a better guy.

    I'm cynical.

As the article mentions, proving that
    Trump personally knew about
    misrepresented financials could very tough.
    Nail his businesses, maybe.
    Nail Trump himself, less probable.

I would say legal cases showing that Trump is a liar, tax cheat, and a conman would hurt his chances at another run in 2024, but he survived some very damning shitstorms in 2016.

But I'm all in favor going after Conman.

Trump’s Pentagon Purge Threatens U.S. Security

A LOT he's doing threatens US security.
We still have got the bull in the china shop.
And he's goring for spite. (or a specific agenda to benefit Russia...but that's speculative, at best...either way, the actions are damaging)

Well, at least he didn't get us into a nuke scenario.
We can clean up anything else. (but it's going to take a LOT of time and money)

Fortunately, the Pentagon itself, hates him and has likely taken steps to prevent damage.
No direct disobedience...but actions to minimize damage.

Everyone fired can come back...and they typically do. (such is the revolving doors in contracting of the Dept of Defense...actually ALL Fed depts are like this, it's a whole industry in DC)

    @rogue49

What about the security issue with CISA and Christopher Krebs?

    IIRC that's your specialty.
