Some love songs are worth reclaiming from their emotional past lives.

I haven't been this scared in a long time. And I'm so unprepared, so here's your Valentine: bouquet of clumsy words, a simple melody - this world's an ugly place, but you're so beautiful to me.

Danced to this one last night when my friend's band covered it. Love.

Keep hearing this on the radio on the way to work. Not my usual style, but I'm into it.

  10. Richard Thompson – 1952 Vincent Black Lightning…

This is the only song I ever went to a radio station website to track down when I caught the tail end while driving. I still tear up every time I hear the damn thing.

Also note the reactions of the other performers. Popularity (or Notoriety) is mostly marketing and luck, respect from your peers is earned. Witness Warren Zevon who was never really awarded the popularity or commercial success he deserved, yet his final album included guest appearances by Bruce Springsteen, Don Henley, Jackson Browne, Timothy B. Schmit, Joe Walsh, David Lindley, Billy Bob Thornton, Emmylou Harris, Tom Petty, and Dwight Yoakam.

Being Irish I always thought this was a beautiful love song.
A woman commits herself totally to man who her parents hate and he offers her the world.
Mad Manoush takes the traditional Irish folk music and does a great mash up that flips it over.

Not sure why I hadn't thought of this one before. I guess I kind of forgot about it for a while.

    Definitely one of my favorites.

    Okay, jumping into this one:

In no particular order, this one will have me staring off into space for awhile: (probably cliched, but I didn't see it in this thread yet!)

This one's for those early days into the relationship when you're totally into them and want to spend every waking moment with them:

Another one that feels like a punch in the heart for me:

(a guy's significant other buys him a pair of sunglasses, and he needs them because "the light that blinds my eyes shines from you" puts a lump in my throat every time.)

Another one for the "relationship is at its peak" times: (so danceable, too!)

(Side note on that one- the entire album is telling a story, from the start of a budding romance between a rocker & his new girl, to the bitter breakup when she makes him choose either her or his guitar. Every song is a winner in my book, even the downer tracks.)

This last one I only know the title, and not the artist (If ANYONE knows, please don't hesitate to reach out!)

It's called, "Your Dimension", and it's an obscure 80's tune (would you expect anything else from me?) and it reminds me of an internet crush I used to have. (There's a .0000000000001% chance the feeling was mutual.)

I'm sure I could find a few more, but that's off the top of my head for now.
