This thread is for small, short films that catch your attention. (I'm not posting any of my own work, this is for worthy entries I had nothing to do with.)

    First up- Reentry!

(This one kinda hits me in the feels.)

I wish I knew of any interesting short films to post .

I'll grant that they aren't easy to find! Sometimes the algorithm works its magic. I went back to YouTube tonight and found nothing notable.

This thread will be a slow burn, if anything. :)

    A digression.

I saw a full length movie about an astronaut stuck in space because of re-entry problems. It seemed very...I don't know, maybe noir? I can't recall the title, but the astronaut was a black actor, the movie was 97% drama.

I liked it. The reviews I looked up were decidedly mixed.

Oh, hell- might as well mention feature-length independent films in this thread; they're worth checking out.

That said, I'll bring up the 2019 film Fast Color:

Without spoilers, I'll say this is basically a superhero movie, but forget the banality of Hollywood's tent-pole Marvelverse- this is superior storytelling.

I'd like to post about Jamin Winan's independent features, but first- a taste of his kind of work. He's a master of modern fantasy, where a common theme is: "What if the world worked like this?"

This is a short of his, titled Spin:

If I ever decide to pay for a streaming service , or know Fast Color is showing on free TV ;), I'd love to see it.

We all know about the huge hit films, & the super hyped ones that flop. I wonder what percentage of films that make it to "distribution" don't fit either category?
