1. We've had very few donations over the year. I'm going to be short soon as some personal things are keeping me from putting up the money. If you have something small to contribute it's greatly appreciated. Please put your screen name as well so that I can give you credit. Click here: Donations

The book arrived from Amazon this afternoon. I can use the help, definitely, but the first dozen pages seem really hucksterish. I'm going to put it aside until tomorrow.
I'm grumpy, judgemental, and tired. Not necessarily in that order.

    Still dealing with it.
I'll never develop a sense of organization at home. (at work, polar opposite)

I need someone to be around to be obligated to.

    Who cares, really?
Over the past few weekends, I ran across three large boxes in my basement that held various items from my past. Two of them were full of Star Wars toys and a few other assorted playthings from my childhood.

As much as I adored them, they were serving no purpose now. I gave the Star Wars toys to one of the fellows I play D&D with. I could have given them to my brother's nephews, but they wouldn't appreciate them and would probably lose or break most of them within months. Not that I would care, especially if I'm giving them away- but I want those once-treasured objects to be treated with some respect. Therefore, I gave them to a fellow fan in his late 20's.

I don't know what to do with the other miscellaneous toys, but since I cut down on the space drastically, it's less of an issue.

The other box was crammed full of my schoolwork and awards my mom saved. I went through everything and found nothing of any value whatsoever. I threw away my yearbooks (grade school & high school), a pile of small pins & trophies for academic achievements, both my diplomas (high school and college, they're not worth toilet paper) and odds & ends from years ago that should stay in the past.

The only things I kept were artifacts from my grandmother's era, like her announcement of her daughter's wedding to my future dad and a keychain with her name on it. My own daughter can appreciate these things down the road.

    Please forgive my gloomy post.

In the future you might regret tossing some of those things. Your college degree? I also have a worthless one, but it ain't getting thrown out. High school yearbook? You might want a bit of nostalgia one day. Sometimes I like to look back at the worst time of my life (so far), just to see how few people I cared about in HS.
