I could have sworn we did have a thread devoted to random videos worth sharing, but I cannot find it.

So, I'm starting a new thread now, and the first one up is this little gem:

Probably just me, but I laughed way too hard at this. I know it's one of those "so stupid, you can't help but laugh" things, but if this were real I may turn into a hardcore fan.

(and yes, this is AI, so no animals were harmed. If you get a chance, the comments on YouTube are comedy gold.)

Nothing funny about this post- I watched it and it rattled me more than a bit, admittedly.

Yeah, there's one I will never forget...

    I really enjoyed this one.

A digression (I'll be brief). There are three extremey talented elite heavyweight fighters in MMA. Because of fighting among the various sanctioning bodies (fuck Dana White & his UFC), & one guy who is very clearly ducking the other two (fuck Jon Jones), they will probably never fight each other.

I briefly got into the UFC (to watch, not participate) with a group of other guys who were heavily into boxing. The last time we got together was back in the mid 1990's when Rorion Gracie fought Dan Severn. The two fighters pretty much stood still for 15+ minutes in a clinch, not able to gain ground until one or the other's endurance gave out.

It was so dull, the guys started flipping channels and coming back to see if anything happened. We dismissed it and never bothered after that.

I understand the value of grappling skills, so I'm not knocking Gracie Jiu-Jitsu. On the flip side, keeping your opponent locked down until he tires is risky, especially if his friends show up to help him or he manages to improvise a weapon in desperation.

Grappling can be interesting, or boring AF. I'm an ignorant casual, but it's general knowledge many of the MMA fighters in the 1990s through the say 2005 were into PEDs.

There's an old thread here that gets into some MMA, & @Baraka_Guru shared his knowledge there.
