    True story.

I have been a consultant for most of my career. Usually when I'm FTE somewhere I'm also freelancing/consulting for someone else, so long as there's no conflict of interest.

I've been JUST a consultant for 9 years.

Yes, that is indeed the very one @DamnitAll and I visited last year. Located only seven minutes from my house, so an easy location to get to.

I would probably go more often, but the last time I went my wrists started to ache after an hour. For one thing, I'm not terribly skilled at these games, as much as I love them. As a younger man, I didn't mind pouring quarters into a machine just to make it to the end, but I don't want to be in pain just for entertainment. I remember standing back and watching Damnitall kicking the crap out of ninjas- I don't mind watching people play.

Although I mentioned this elsewhere, I'll reiterate: it gets hot in that place, with all the machines running constantly. Depending on when you go, the masses of people can also add to the heat issues. (But when we went last year, it wasn't crowded at all.)

I think it's still $25 for an all-day pass. Not a bad deal, since you could go and play for a while, leave to grab a meal and come back later again.

fflowley Don't just do something, stand there!

    That looks awesome.
Do they have games for us old timers like Missile Command, Millipede, and Joust? Those were a few of my favorites.

They might have a list of games on their website, but I do know they have a lot of the old classics there. I'm trying to recall if I saw those specific games. If you'd asked me about Pac-Man, Donkey Kong, Asteroids, Tempest & Tron, I could have answered in the affirmative. :)

Halloween was a good night yesterday. Didn't get invited to any parties, but sat by the door handing out candy to the kids. (Not so bad, I get a kick out of seeing what costumes are all the rage each year.)

The majority of the costumes this year were a bit on the generic side- clowns, witches, and princesses. I did see a Ghostbuster, a kid dressed as a Lego man (he had to take off his Lego head to safely walk down the stairs) and an inflatable ghost costume that actually lit up.

We don't have as many kids as we used to, so there was a bit of candy left over. There's still candy left over, but not as much as last night.

    (burp)

    ;)

One odd moment- two girls, probably 7 or 8 years of age each, asked me what my costume was.

I wasn't dressed up at all. Just wore a denim shirt with brown pants, and a pair of old dress shoes. One of them asked if I was pretending to be the dad from (she said some TV show, but I didn't quite catch the name) but I just replied that I'm just a dad. Then they asked if my kids were sleeping, and I said, no, she's away at college. That seemed to satisfy them, and they went away.

Maybe next year I will dress up in costume to hand out treats (a strong possibility) if I don't get invited to any parties (also a strong possibility)

We gave up handing out candy years ago when a large % of the "kids" were nearly as tall as us (my wife used to be 5'7").

"Sorry, small kiddos, but older teenagers trick-or-treating seriously bothers me."

    "You're an asshole!"

    "Hmm...guilty as charged."
