Considering he signed with them back in March, and already played a preseason game for them, I'd assume they'd be even more sure than that. :p

AP source: Jaguars to play home games in London - Yahoo! Sports

Multiple home games? I doubt the players will love that. I doubt that will help build the home fan base in Jacksonville. Especially amongst season ticket holders, who I presume won't be asked to buy those games, but who will now have to pay for 2 preseason games just to get 5-6 real home games.

It was on last week's episode, they had cameras in the room. They edit it and air it almost immediately.

My beloved Bills have been playing 2 games a year in Toronto the past few years.
One exhibition and one of their home games.
It has been far from a success, unless you only care about the guaranteed money they are making doing it.
The crowds have been small, and not nearly as enthusiastic as in Buffalo.
The tickets were initially outrageously overpriced and they ended up having to give lots away to get some bodies in the seats.
There is no place to tailgate.
The players really don't seem into it, and Toronto is only 90 minutes from Buffalo.
Flying to London seems like a major disruption.

  8. Interesting. St. Louis pulled out after being announced for the next two years. Kind of odd.

  10. They have a bye week afterwards ralphie250. Is only a 6 hour flight from Boston to Heathrow. I went to London last Oct for the Chicago/Tampa Bay game. There is a pretty good sized fan base in the UK and also Europe. The NFL has done a good job of developing interest. With a 6 hour time difference, the Sunday early games are timed perfectly for our friends across the pond. I have a friend in the Netherlands who is very into American football. Sander watches the games live on Sunday evening and records the later games for viewing on Monday.

    Why do they go? $$$$$

I can see playing one game a year over there, with rotating teams doing it.

I can't see moving 3-4 games a year of the same team going over there.

Most of the season ticket holders I know view the preseason games as kind of a team imposed fee on their regular season games. They have to pay full price for a garbage game, and many of them give those away or just don't go. They view the 8 regular season home games as worth the extra cost. But if those same people are now only going to get 2-3 less regular season games, it makes those awful preseason tickets even more of a burden IMO. Also, the logistics of more games would cause issues. It would be horrible to be a team in the same division as the one that plays half it's games in Europe and have to go there every year (or every other year). The NFL defeats some of the logistics stuff in their game over there every year by managing the bye weeks well for the teams that have to go over there as Craven Morehead mentioned. If you had to do that for 3-4 teams, it would be a much more difficult. Plus you'd have a mess with figuring in Monday and Thursday games (which start in Sept this year). Who wants to go to Europe on a 4-5 day turn around? And can you imagine the West Coast teams having to go there regularly? Until we travel to Europe in 3-4 hours from most of the US, I think playing more than a game or two (and no team going twice) is a bad idea.

  12. I like preseason.....you get to see the third string play. Some players actually play a lot harder because their job is on the line. Coaches try weird things.

Also, preseason is like having sex after months and months of not having it. You just don't care how bad it is. You're glad that it's happening.

Why does God hate the Buffalo Bills?

  18. Looks like the Bears have a big boy offense this year. As long as the O line protects Cutler this could be fun.

Peyton is looking pretty sharp. 19-24 at this point, and a couple of the misses were drops by the receiver. 253 yards and 2TDs. Not bad for a guy that didn't play at all last year.
