How would the locals here compare para-ordnance's singe action single stack 1911 to the SA mil-spec?

Besides mostly cosmetic differences, is there any real change between the SA mil-spec and regular full size?

I ask because cosmetically I prefer the mil-spec, but the price difference between the mil-spec and full size is only 70 dollars.
