Quite right. I have a bachelor's degree in social work and haven't spent a single day working as a social worker in my life. Currently I'm a unix system administrator, making more than twice what I would as a social worker, with no educational training - all on the job.
Go for what you want, dualman7. Work experience means much more than educational experience once you prove you can get a degree.
