I'm going to totally steal someone else on this board's idea (sorry) and say:
The Dark Tower as Anime. This would let you do the 7 books as a series (perhaps condense them to 4 films) without having to take 10 years to film them.
I would do them in the style of the Anime sequence in Kill Bill Vol. 1 (ie Not cartoony feeling like Dragon Ball Z or the like).
I'll have to think about voice actors....I'll edit this thread when I have that nailed down.
Soundtrack would be straight up western like "The Good, The Bad and the Ugly"
