How does group play work if a level 50 char can beat a level 50 enemy? Is the focus more on solo play then as opposed to group play?

There are regular monsters in the game and "elite" monsters in the game. Elite monsters are EQ-type monsters that take an entire group to safely kill. Most classes can kill an elite monster of their level by themselves but end up almost dead. The elite monsters are usually in dungeons and very important quests. You do *not* have to fight elite monsters to level up.
Regular monsters are the monsters that a player can kill with ease. Most classes can kill two monsters at the same time if they're the same level as the player.
