I'd use VideoMach to edit your video if you're running a windows machine, you'll just need to import your video, define your in and out points on the video, define what you want as an output file, and then start processing. You can download the trail version at
http://www.gromada.com/ which lasts for 15 days (hopefully should be enough time). I've used version 2 and liked it, now that I found version 3 is out I'm in the process of testing it, but it still looks well-engineered.
