I also wish it had a demo version I could d/l and play for a week or a month or so. I really liked that about Anarchy Online, even though I ended up not sticking with it because I found it boring. Are there any plans for a demo or do I have to plunk down $50 just to see if I like it?
WoW was supposedly created with the "casual gamer" in mind in that payoff and game-enjoyment can be had with minimal gameplay, which is the oposite of what most MMORPG's are known for.

Furthermore, WoW comes with a free month subscription. Just put down the $40 and try it out. If you don't like it, you might be able to find a friend, ebay, or craigslister that'l buy it.
