Generally for everyday use you would keep a different ring in there, like a barbell, but you could leave the reverse ring on, it would just dangle when your soft. The idea is to flip it up over the head as you get hard, which will hold it in place during sex.

Actually you want a ring thats internal diameter is about 2mm less than the external diameter of your cock when hard. This way, not only doesn't it move, it also functions as a cock ring.
