I'm not sure on the performance of Semprons, but if you do anymore then just web browsing or word processing I'd suggest going for Pentium M. If budget is not a big concern for you I'd go with a dell 700m. Notebooks with the Pentium Ms seem to work great long battery life, run cool, and performs better then any cpu I've used in a notebook.
