Depending on the time scale, I would put my money on the following:
1. Increased globalization as a result of increased communication and travel potential.
2. A shift in global economics based on new energy carriers.
3. More wars.
4. If population isn't controlled internally (and who are we kidding, people like to have sex a lot), then either war or disease will eventually knock us back a few billion, and/or
5. We will start colonizing the near space regions.
6. I think alien contact is difficult to speculate on. The universe is mighty big, but if we hang in there in one form or another, and the universe doesn't implode...well, it seem like even a small probability eventually will pay out.
7. The position of the United States as the dominant world power ends.
8. As a result of the technological revolution, females either take over dominant roles in first world societies, or else a more gender equitable solution is reached.
9. Hermaphroditic humans evolve with fully developed internal genetalia, or else we start primarily procreating externally, which some might argue could lead to a intellectual evolution of humans. Maybe we lose some toes and hair and such.
10. New religions evolve.
