for the most part, i consider it entertainment. however, that is assuming we are talking about random instant messages to random people. it's just funny.
in a relationship, it's different. while it is nothing like sex in the flesh, cyber sex is a great alternative if sex isn't possible. and a nice way to add some mild spice to your relationship even if sex could be happening later that night. it's an interactive fantasy with your partner and imo, a great way to connect.
