I'm so sorry to hear it. I'm glad that she had such a long full life, and was clearly loved so well.
If your parents feel anything like I do about my pets... and it sounds like they do... it will be a long time for them to be less sad.
That's the best thing they can remember, tho... how well they loved her and how well she loved them back.
