I can't stand wireless mice, but I can't use optical for FPS at all. I have to be using a ball mouse for FPS or I suck really bad. I can use optical in WoW, but I still do better in all games with a ball mouse. I know I'm the minority, but my movements simply aren't as precise without the added friction of the ball. My mice usually cost $2 from www.directron.com .

The regular Dell PS/2 ball mice with a scroll wheel do me fine.
